1983 PORSCHE 911 SC 3.0 CABRIOLET

This Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet is a stylish 1980s open-top sports car, which has been the subject of a very good quality cosmetic refurbishment. As a late model SC, it is powered by the robust 201bhp 3.0-litre air-cooled flat-six, which is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels.

While the chassis number indicates that this is a 1983 model year car, it is understood to have been first registered in January 1984, and was delivered from the factory to the US market. More recently, it has been imported to Europe. It currently resides in Italy, and has been with the current owner for the last three years.

The vendor is not aware of any prior damage, and the car’s bodywork presents in very good condition. There are even panel gaps throughout, and its Grand Prix White finish is in great shape, and it has almost certainly been fully resprayed given the condition. It retains the US-specification rear impact bumper, and while some of the body trims are worn in places, they are all present. The black soft top is in good condition, with the mechanism operating as it should, and the car rides on Fuchs alloys with the correct satin black and polished metal finish.

In the cabin, the red leather upholstery is a recent re-trim, and the front and rear seats are in superb order - as are the door card panels. There is some general wear across the dashboard and some of the switchgear, but overall this is a great place to sit on long-distance road trips. There are no known electrical faults, and the car is equipped with a Blaupunkt radio cassette head unit.

The last scheduled maintenance was carried out in 2020 at Officina Baldini in Rome, which was a general service. The vendor reports that the previous services and maintenance work was carried out between 2014 and 2015. The pulley belt connecting the air pump - which was a requirement in the US market - has been removed.

Its most recent Revisione roadworthiness test was in 2021, and there were no warnings about the car’s condition. All four Bridgestone Turanza tyres are in good condition, with plenty of tread.
