1982 PORSCHE 911 SC

KEY FACTS

  • An eye-catching and highly original example of a factory right-hand-drive 911 SC in strong mechanical condition and with low mileage.
  • At the rear, its 3.0-litre air-cooled flat six engine produces up to 180hp, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
  • First registered in Hong Kong in 1982, it was later exported to Australia. The current owner has thoroughly enjoyed this classic 911 for the past 17 years and 24,000 miles, during which time it has been garaged, well maintained, and has proved to be very reliable.

EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS

  • Finished in Pacific Blue Metallic over matching dark blue leather, this 911 SC was specified with the front and rear spoilers from the 911 Turbo 3.3 of the same era.
  • A set of Fuchs wheels and the classic ‘Carrera’ door script complete the unmistakable ’80s look.
  • Other features include power windows, an aftermarket CD stereo, fog lamps, and fitted blue sheepskin seat covers.

CONDITION

  • This 911 is mechanically strong and wears its 40 years very well, but it could be brought up to superb condition with a light interior refresh and attention to a few small areas on the paintwork.
  • There are minor paint bubbles on the front bonnet, and cracking to the paint near the 911 SC badge on the engine cover lid.
  • The factory original dark blue interior trim presents in good to fair condition, with general colour fading and minor wear.
  • The parking bulbs need replacing, the heater lever is stuck, and the windscreen washers are currently inoperative.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • This 911 has been treated to regular maintenance and servicing over the past 17 years.
  • The last service was performed in early 2020 at approximately 48,000 Miles by Nic Dewall at Volksparts, Bungendore, NSW. An oil and filter change was performed, as well as an exhaust repair, a front ball joint was replaced, and the car had a general tune-up.
  • Prior to this in 2019 and 2018, routine servicing was also performed at the same workshop.
  • New tyres were fitted all around in February 2021.
  • A recent inspection report by Porsche Centre Canberra will also be included in the sale.

SUMMARY

An icon of the ’80s, this highly original Porsche 911 SC is a factory right-hand-drive example with low mileage and desirable five-speed manual transmission. Ready to give its next owner many more years of analogue driving pleasure, this 40-year-old classic still looks stylish, and it would be straightforward to bring it up to a superb cosmetic standard.
