• An alarm and central locking system is fitted to the vehicle.
• The vehicle is supplied with an engineer’s report for the right-hand drive conversion, import approval papers, and an extensive folder of receipts for servicing and maintenance.

CONDITION

• There is no known body damage, though of course some panels have been replaced for the ‘forward date’ process.
• The exterior of the vehicle is in solid condition, with the black paintwork believed to be largely original and in fair order. There is a minor crack in the rear bumper, some minor stoning chipping and wear on the trim, and small imperfections in the paint finish commensurate with the age of the vehicle.
• Inside, the 911 Targa’s black leather is presentable but showing its age, with the driver’s seat bolster cover having previously split and been partially repaired. The door cards, dashboard and roof lining are in generally good condition for the mileage.
• There are no known electrical issues. All gauges, switches and controls work as they should.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The most recent service was performed by Porsche specialist Mark Poole Motorsport with the odometer reading 125,329km. All six injectors were removed and replaced, so too the fuel metering head. The engine oil and filter were changed, a new fuel filter was fitted, and the speedo sensor was replaced.
• Prior to this, in 2006 a Turbo-specification tie rod kit was fitted, a new steering column bearing was installed, and the front and rear brakes were overhauled.
• The timing chain was replaced in 1996, soon after the vehicle arrived in Australia.

SUMMARY

This Porsche 911 SC Targa is a sprightly classic sports car, presented in solid mechanical condition, and which has been cosmetically enhanced the main features of the 964 Carrera Targa. While the next owner may wish to make some small cosmetic improvements, this ‘Super Carrera’ is ready to drive, and could be a good entry point into classic 911 ownership.
