• Its factory specification includes a rare Blaupunkt Bamberg radio complete with microphone and record function.

CONDITION

• There is no known previous accident damage.
• The underside is reported to be extremely clean and tidy, and the seller states that the rear fenders retain the factory weld marks, showing that they are original to the car. All the suspension components are also said to have clean factory plating throughout.
• The black paintwork is believed to be original and presents well overall. The finish on the roof, fenders and doors displays some surface damage having been exposed to the sun and stored for long periods of time under a car cover. There are also some light scuffs and stone chips around the bodywork commensurate with the age of the vehicle.
• Moving inside, the condition of the original black leather interior cabin is described as good, with a natural ‘patina’ on the seats, which are free from any holes or tears. There is some modest wear to the passenger-side door card, dashboard, and handbrake handle.
• There are no known mechanical or electrical faults, and the vendor states that the car revs and idles smoothly.

SUMMARY

An excellent matching-numbers example of Porsche’s head-turning classic sports car; this early 930 Turbo combines a characterful flat-six engine and distinctive styling, and is a genuine ‘poster car’ of its era. Given its originality and low mileage, a collector may understandably wish to leave it as-is; though this car could also be sympathetically enhanced with some attention to the paintwork to bring it up to a superb standard.
