1970 PORSCHE 914/6

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Designed in collaboration with Volkswagen as a replacement for the entry-level 912, the 914 was initially intended to be sold as a VW when equipped with the less powerful four-cylinder engine, and as a Porsche with the more potent six-cylinder unit seen in this example, though in the end all models featured the Stuttgart crest.
• Originally finished in Red Metallic, this 914/6 has since been fully resprayed in Light Ivory, and its interior has been retrimmed in beige leather.
• In line with its position at the more economical end of the Porsche line-up the car is relatively light on factory-fitted equipment, though it does feature a cabin heater, manual windows and a removable roof panel.
• It rides on a set of 16-inch Fuchs alloy wheels, which replace the original 14-inch items. All four are finished in satin black with polished ‘petal’ spokes and rims.
• The car has also been modified with the addition of an uprated exhaust system and KYB Gas-A-Just suspension dampers, while a more modern Alpine stereo has been fitted in the cabin.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage, and all the panels are thought to be original.
• The resprayed Light Ivory finish is in excellent condition, with a few very minor blemishes on the pop-up headlamps noted.
• Some light scratches can be seen on the chrome body trims.
• Inside, its re-trimmed beige upholstery presents in very good order, with no significant wear.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical issues.
• This 914/6’s most recent service was carried out upon the car’s arrival at its current home in California, with fresh engine oil and oil filter.
