1969 PORSCHE 911 E 2.0

This beautifully restored and numbers-matching 1969 Porsche 911 E has a well-documented history and is in superb condition. It features a rebuilt 2.0-litre fuel-injected and air-cooled flat-six, producing around 155hp, mated to the four-speed ‘Sportomatic’ clutchless manual transmission. The odometer reads 57,015 miles.

An original right-hand drive car built in 1969, the 911 was first registered in October of that year. It has had just four owners since new, of which three are known. The low indicated mileage is believed to be correct, and invoices included with the car are said to support that. It has been with its current owner for the past three years.

Benefiting from a sympathetic restoration including a respray and engine rebuild, the car is in great shape inside and out. Its panels are all straight and line up well, and the fresh Bahama Yellow finish matches the original factory colour that the car was originally delivered in. All of the bodywork features and trims are in very good order. It rides on a set of 15-inch alloy wheels, with polished centre ‘petals’ and rims.

The car was re-trimmed during its restoration, and the new upholstery was finished to an excellent standard. Today, there is no wear, discoloration or damage to report, with the interior essentially presenting in as-new, showroom condition. There are no known faults, and all of the controls and switches work as they should.

The 911E was last serviced by Porsche specialist Motion Automotive in December 2020, at 56,950 miles. This was a general service, which also included a new fixture for the hand throttle. The car will be sold with various invoices from the past 25 years of ownership, which document a good deal of servicing history. This 911 has not been modified or customised, and there are photos that show key stages of the rebuild of its numbers-matching engine.

It has a valid 2020 roadworthy certificate from Victoria, which it passed without any warnings or advisories. All four Pirelli Cinturato P1 tyres are in excellent condition with plenty of tread.

This 1969 911E is a superb example of the classic sports car, benefiting from a sympathetic restoration including an engine rebuild. It would make a fine addition to any collection, but is ultimately ready to head straight out onto the open road, to be enjoyed where it belongs.
