1965 PORSCHE 911 2.0 - FIA SPECIFICATION

KEY FACTS

  • An excellent 911 race car built to FIA specifications, which comes with a Historic Technical Passport (HTP) valid until December 2026.
  • It is powered by a 2.0-litre air-cooled flat-six, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.
  • A very early 911 from the first year of production, it has a desirable ‘300 series’ chassis number.
  • It has been comprehensively rebuilt by Porsche specialist Officine Biasetti in Langhirano, Emilia Romagna, and has covered only 200km since.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • Originally delivered to Switzerland, this early 911 was painted in Light Ivory with an interior trimmed in black vinyl and ‘pepita’ cloth, and with the optional Webasto heater.
  • Some body panels have evidently been replaced to strip weight in the pursuit of performance, with revised front and rear bumpers, and with a lightened bonnet panel.
  • This 911 is equipped with OMP bucket seats and harnesses, a roll cage, a fire extinguisher and a Sparco three-spoke steering wheel.
  • There is also an Aero Tec Labs (ATL) safety fuel cell (which is due for replacement), quick-release pins for the engine cover and bonnet, lightweight door cards, and emergency cut-off switches.
  • The car rides on 15-inch Fuchs alloy wheels shod in Avon tyres.
  • Its FIA Historic Technical Passport and Fédération Internationale de L’Automobile certificate will be included alongside a large folder of maintenance movies and registration documents.

CONDITION

  • Its white paintwork is in good shape, now presenting with a few stone chips on the front bumper, bonnet and wing mirrors, entirely commensurate with its motorsport use.
  • A few marks are visible on the window trims and seals, which are also slightly aged in places.
  • Inside, the OMP bucket seats have no significant wear, though some light scratching can be seen in the centre of the Sparco steering wheel.
  • No electrical faults have been detected.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • It has been completely rebuilt by Porsche specialist Officine Biasetti and is understood to have covered only 200km since then.
  • Its most recent service was undertaken recently by GPS Classic in Parma, Italy, and the car is reported to be in very good running order.

SUMMARY

This 1965 Porsche 911 2.0 is a unique racing build based on one of the earliest chassis with its sought-after ‘300 series’ identity, which features a raft of lightweight and high-performance components, and has an FIA Historic Technical Passport. Having been driven sparsely since its comprehensive rebuild, it presents very well throughout and will be a great companion for circuit events or road rallies – ideal for the 2.0L Cup Porsche racing series.
