Incredible Cars At Biggest Coffee Run In Sweden

In late September, the Collecting Cars team returned to the classic car hub of Motikon in Uppsala, for another of the hugely popular ‘Coffee Run’ events. An incredible turnout on the day saw more than 600 cars and well over 1,000 people in attendance.

While it is always impossible to pick a ‘favourite’ car, among the highlights were a genuine Porsche 962 FIA Group C racing car, Lexus LFA, Ford GT, Mitsubishi Evo VI Tommi Makinen, and Porsche 918 Spyder.

Classics were well-represented by the likes of a Mercedes-Benz 600 ‘Grosser’, Ferrari 308 GTB, Chevrolet Corvette C2, and numerous 1970s Porsches. There were also rally-inspired Toyotas and Subarus, and a great assembly of Lamborghinis covering several decades – with Countach, Gallardos and an Aventador SVJ wowing the crowds.

Of course, our Coffee Runs also bring out the weird and the wonderful, so it was great to see someone using an incredibly rare Volkswagen XL1 on the road, and lightweight machines such as the KTM X-Bow used as intended.

Enthusiasts were engaged in conversations with friends new and old throughout the day, and our team was busy fielding enquiries from prospective buyers and sellers – with an eight-car collection and various Porsches among those set up as future consignments.

There was plenty of freshly ground and brewed Italian coffee available for attendees served by Fogarolli, and our hosts at Motikon opened the doors to their impressive facilities full of iconic classic and modern cars.
