On Sunday 23 July, the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart and Collecting Cars partnered up their well-known respective ‘car meet’ events to bring together a remarkable assembly of classic, high-performance and collectible vehicles in the Baden-Württemberg state capital.

Representing an exceptional archive of the marque’s history, the Mercedes-Benz Museum covers some 16,500 square metres, incorporating more than 160 vehicles to tell the story of the famous brand; from its roots with Carl Benz in 1886 through to the present day.

More than 3,000 guests were present during the morning, roaming the parking area in front of this incredible facility – and a special mention must go to the globetrotting car enthusiast who had previously attended one of our Collecting Cars Coffee Runs in Australia!

In total, well over 800 cars turned up for the joint ‘Coffee Run’ and ‘Classics & Coffee’ gathering. Among the highlights were a new generation Lamborghini Countach, Porsche 911 Sport Classic, Ford GT, and a Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG from the official AMG collection. There were many classics represented too, with the likes of a Lancia Stratos, Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, Maserati 3500 GT, countless W111 ‘fintail’ Mercedes and W113 ‘Pagoda’ SLs, and even some historic DTM racing cars.

Plenty of refreshment was laid on for the enthusiasts who came along to this great event, with freshly brewed coffee, various food trucks, and even an ice cream van. We were treated to fantastic weather, remaining clear, warm and sunny for the entire morning. As always, it was our pleasure to welcome not just dedicated car and bike enthusiasts, but also their partners and children.

Our thanks go to our host venue, the Mercedes-Benz Museum, and for joining up their ‘Classics & Coffee’ meet with our now-familiar ‘Coffee Run’ for this excellent automotive gathering. If you missed this event and wished you hadn’t, then look out for more events in Europe soon, and we hope to see you at the next Coffee Run!
