Collecting Cars was pleased to support Classic Cars & Coffee on Sunday May 7, which brought close to 700 vehicles to the University of Western Australia for a social morning among our friends in the enthusiast community.

The East Coast’s poor weather seems to have made its way across the desert, and the event kicked off on soggy grounds, but conditions soon improved and it turned into a lovely morning for kindred spirits to meet and chat. This was made even friendlier by organisers’ efforts to encourage drivers to bring along their pets – even the snake was welcomed.

From the everyday to the exotic, to the very original and the heavily modified; there were far too many stunning vehicles in the eclectic display to do the gathering full justice here. Modern exotics from Ferrari and Lamborghini joined classic Mustangs, Corvettes and Chargers, which parked next to Porsches, Triumphs and Minis, and across from Skylines, RX7s and Supras new and old.

There were also some crowd-pleasing bikes, including an attractive Royal Enfield, a few head-turning hot rods, and veteran cars from the Perth to Sydney Marathon. Some classic four-wheeled favourites included a Mercedes 190 SL and a beautifully presented Porsche 550 RS Spyder replica.

Our thanks go to Classic Cars & Coffee for hosting another great event, and managing the impressive turnout with such grace and enthusiasm. The gathering is held at the University of Western Australia on the first Sunday of every month, with the next event planned for the 4th of June. We hope to see you there!
