A New World Record: Ex-burns Impreza Sells For £610,000

Brought to market with an evocative short film created in partnership between Collecting Cars and automotive cinema specialist Ralle, alongside global press and media activity, ensured the auction listing attracted more than 52,000 viewers, while more than 175,000 people watched the video introduction narrated by Chris Harris.

Widely regarded as ‘the most original WRC car in the world’, the Impreza had been plucked from the finishing line of the 2000 Network Q Rally of Great Britain by its first private owner, thereby preserving its originality for the 21 years since then.

The car retains its original as-raced bodywork and scarred paint, original engine and transmission, and even Richard Burns and co-driver Robert Reid’s communications headsets and energy bars from the final leg of the rally.

As part of the film shoot, the creative team captured a fantastic record of behind-the-scenes content, which is highlighted in this story.
