SCHEDONI LUGGAGE FOR FERRARI F40

This set of Schedoni luggage for the Ferrari F40 is a rare collection of cases made specifically for the fabled twin-turbocharged analogue supercar. Two of the bags have been used as intended, but they are all in generally good condition. There is also a full set of brown dust bags.

Modenese luxury brand Schedoni has been responsible for supplying bespoke sets of exquisite leather luggage for the majority of new Ferrari supercars and grand tourers since 1977. Individual cases for the Ferrari F40 are occasionally available, but finding a complete set is becoming very hard.

The three items of luggage offered here comprise: one large circular suitcase, one small suitcase (business bag), and one garment carrier. These items were tailored for the F40 by Schedoni, with the larger case slotting into the spare wheel well under the front compartment, the garment carrier being stored behind the passenger seat, and the angled smaller suitcase fitting in the passenger footwell.

The cases were hand-crafted by Schedoni from black leather, with tan linings and black zips, and with brass padlocks, handle fixings and studs. The circular suitcase also has two additional locks on the front. The leather is embossed with the ‘Cavallino’ emblem, as well as the 'F40', ‘Schedoni, Cuoio Modena’ logos.

The larger suitcase and garment carrier appear to have seen some use, presenting with slight wear to the leather and general patina to the brass fixtures; however, the smaller case appears to have never been used, and still looks pristine outside. All of the linings have perished over time, so they will now require replacement. The vendor understands that it is possible to send them back to Schedoni – or any other leather specialist – for this work. A set of draw-string dust bags is included, to keep the cases protected when in storage.

This complete set of genuine Schedoni cases for the Ferrari F40 is an exceptionally rare collection of luggage, presented in good condition. For a discerning owner of the 1980s performance icon, this would surely be a must-have finishing touch to their supercar, whether for the purposes of concours judging, or to put to practical use on longer road trips.
