This lot is a stunning Jaguar E-Type children’s car, which is waiting to be finished with the paintwork and trim of the winning bidder’s choosing. The car can be completed from a set of tried-and-tested combinations, or can even be finished to a completely bespoke ‘paint to sample’ specification - perfect if the desire is to create a miniature version of a full-size E-Type.

The cars pictured in the accompanying photos illustrate the Roadster on offer, shown here in Baby Blue, Bright Red, and Black. The car is built to resemble the Series 1 model, with faired-in covered headlights accented by high-quality polished brass bezels, slim bumpers, and the small oval front grille. It is constructed in the UK by a specialist children’s car manufacturer.

The E-Type ‘Junior’ is a wonderful ‘half scale’ version of one of the most elegant and popular roadsters in the world. It is powered by a 45cc engine, coupled to a centrifugal clutch driving the rear wheels, which can power the car up to a top speed of around 15 mph. Braking is by a single disc with a mechanical piston caliper.

The seller states that the half-scale E-Type is suitable for most children between four and seven years of age. The overall dimensions are approximately 2 metres in length and 0.8 metres in width.

Its chassis is a custom design fabricated in steel and then powder-coated, while the bodywork is composite glass-reinforced plastic. It is equipped with 12-inch steel wheels with pneumatic tyres and ‘Jaguar’ centre caps.

The cabin will be trimmed in the buyer’s choice of genuine leather, with a bench-style seat, and diamond-quilted leather panels either side of the carpet on the floor. Its equipment includes push-button start, as well as a working horn and headlights. The four-spoke steering wheel and pedals are mounted centrally.
