FERRARI ILLUMINATED NEON DEALERSHIP SIGN

The ‘Ferrari’ brand mark has been a constant part of the marque’s visual identity since it was introduced in 1947. Now associated with some of the most memorable road and race cars in history, it is instantly recognisable around the world.

This lot comprises a large illuminated ‘Ferrari’ sign layout that dates to the 1980s, and which was formerly displayed at an authorised dealer. The sign comprises seven individual letters, each one fabricated with a steel backing plate and with a Perspex box cover on top.

The components are in generally good condition for their age, though the ‘F’ Perspex cover is cracked from when somebody tried to carry it without the steel backing in place, though it could be professionally repaired to make this less visible. There are also some hairline cracks in other Perspex elements where screws have been overtightened in the past. Two neon filaments are missing - one in an ‘r’ and one in the ‘a’, though a neon specialist would be able to replace these.

When laid out using the correct spacing, the sign measures approximately 292cm across in width. In order to power the sign, wiring would need to be run to each of the individual letters to connect them and link to a plug, though the original sockets are in place at the end of the neon filaments ready for this. This item will need to be collected from the vendor’s premises in East Sussex.
