This racing simulator is an incredible custom creation, using a complete carbon-fibre bodied replica of a Ferrari F2004 F1 car, and equipped with the very latest gaming software. It would make a jaw-dropping gift for any budding motorsport competitors or enthusiast, and is ready to enjoy.

The body is a full-scale recreation of Ferrari’s Formula One Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship winning F2004 racer, fabricated from carbon-fibre. While the main section is painted in the marque’s racing red hue with white accents, the carbon-fibre is fully visible on the suspension struts, the rear tail section and on the huge rear wing and diffuser.

It is understood that the car was initially commissioned and built up as a simulator for Ball Racing Developments, and it is chassis number 08. It was used to train professional drivers in practice sessions at the time, but since then the hardware has been upgraded in line with consumer gaming technology.

It rides on genuine free-rolling F1 car wheels and Bridgestone tyres, though there are also three castor wheels under the car that can lift it and enable rotation movement. The front and rear wings are both removable to aid with access and transport, and the rear body section also comes off to allow access to the electronics.

The hardware consists of a brand-new professional gaming PC with an Intel Core i5-2400 processor, 8GB RAM, a 1TB HDD, and running 64-bit Windows 10. It is connected to three Samsung 27-inch OLED monitors, with operational inputs via a wireless keyboard and mouse.

In the cockpit, there is more visible carbon-fibre for the fixed-position racing set, but it features electrically adjustable pedals that can be moved back and forwards by the flick of a switch to suit both children and adults. Ahead of the driver is a Thrustmaster F1 racing wheel, which has full force feedback and vibration, paddle shift for the gears, and with a raft of buttons and switches to get to grips with.

The software loaded includes the rFactor simulator, an extendable and customisable platform offering an incredible array of vehicles from almost every era, as well as F1 2020, the latest in the series from Codemasters, which offers the latest racers as well as a number of ‘classic’ F1 models. The on-screen graphics for both games are superb, and the car has a built-in 2.1 channel sound system with a substantial subwoofer.

For the collector who has everything, this must surely be the ultimate indoor toy. Suitable for children and adults alike, this professionally built system features brand-new hardware and the latest software to make it an immersive and exciting simulator. As a standalone item to add to a collection, it is impressive enough, but given that it can be readily used and enjoyed by the whole family, this F2004 replica is an incredibly compelling lot. It is quite possibly the ultimate gift for a racing enthusiast, and as such is an opportunity not to be missed.
