This Ferrari 348 TS Junior by Agostini Auto is a fantastic ‘half scale’ children’s car, based on the design of the Maranello brand’s early 1990s supercar. Its engine is believed to be a four-stroke Briggs and Stratton motor, producing around 3.5hp, paired with an automatic transmission that has one forward speed plus reverse.

The Agostini company became renowned for its miniature working replicas of iconic sports cars, such as the Porsche 911, Lamborghini Countach and the Ferrari F40. This car is based on the targa-top 348 TS model, and is a faithful homage, featuring working fog lights recessed in the front bumper, side strakes along the flanks, and the full-width black grille element across the rear. Even the wheels are in the correct five-spoke style.

Understood to have been built in the 1990s, it uses a tubular steel chassis, coupled to sturdy fibreglass bodywork. There is working steering, a dummy instrument dashboard, and disc braking. Its approximate dimensions are 230cm (length) by 100cm (width) by 70cm (height). It weighs around 90kg. It is thought to be suitable for those aged up to around 10 years old.

The car is in very good condition, though the seller notes a small fibreglass crack at the right side mirror location, and one on the rear bumper under the grille. It has been repainted, with new stickers and a new plexiglas window added, and carpeting has been installed in the cabin. The four-stroke engine has been fitted with a new carburettor, and the seller states that the engine starts with a push of the button without fault. There is also a 12-volt system using a motorcycle battery, though there is no battery included.
