CARBON FIBRE RENAULTSPORT MEGANE TROPHY-R WHEELS

Building on a deeply impressive chassis and powerful turbocharged engine, the special Renaultsport Megane Trophy-R incorporated sophisticated Ohlins dampers, an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, carbon composite bonnet and a carbon rear diffuser, as well as other weight-saving modifications. The RS Trophy-R Nürburgring Specification added carbon ceramic brakes and dynamic air intakes, as well as carbon-fibre wheels. The Megane in this particular specification holds the current FWD lap record; only two of these cars were shipped to the UK.



This lot consists of an original set of carbon-fibre wheels, which were available as an expensive cost option for the 30 RS Trophy-R cars manufactured for the UK market – and it is the owner of one such car who now offers the wheels for sale. In size 8.5Jx19, the wheels save 2.1kg per corner over the Trophy-R’s Fuji Light wheels, and 4kg per corner of the standard Trophy.

The wheels are shod in a set of Bridgestone Potenza S007 high speed performance tyres in size 245/35R19, designed specifically for Renaultsport. Both the wheels and tyres are in new and unused condition, even with the original tyre stickers still in place, and are safely stored in their individual zip-up bags.

This could be a great way to enhance a standard Megane Trophy model, bringing genuine benefits to reducing unsprung mass; or an ideal addition to a rare Trophy-R model that was not originally specified with the wheels from the factory.
