Famously created by American racer and entrepreneur Carol Shelby, the original AC Cobra combined the lightweight frame of an AC Ace with a Ford small block V8, and was produced in three iterations – culminating in the Cobra Mk III, which was manufactured from 1965 until 1967.
In 1986, the so-called Mk IV model was produced, and since then there have been numerous replicas, recreations, and evocations to this legendary no-frills roadster and American icon.
The story behind the parts offered here is that the vendor acquired a genuine pre-1966 Mk1 AC Cobra to convert to FIA racing specifications. In the process, a brand-new engine and gearbox were built and installed, along with numerous other replacement or upgrade components. The original items that were removed are no longer needed, and are offered to another enthusiast. Given that these are factory parts taken from an authentic Mk1 AC Cobra, they would be ideal as used spare parts for the genuine article, or even employed for a faithful replica build.
