• A near-new example of the exciting British kit car, equipped with a number of factory-fitted upgrades.
  • It is powered by a brand-new 2.0-litre Ford Zetec engine, producing around 200bhp, coupled to a brand-new Type 9 five-speed manual gearbox.
  • The car was built in 2020 by a retired motor vehicles lecturer and engineer, before being sent to Tiger Racing in Wisbech for its final tweaks in February 2021.
  • It passed its IVA test first time and was registered with the DVLA in April.
  • Now residing in London, the car has only been driven in dry weather, either on quiet Sunday mornings or to local car shows.

  • This Avon was finished in yellow with a black racing stripe, and with yellow-piped black leather upholstery in the cabin.
  • The 2.0-litre engine features Webcon throttle bodies and a modified ERA sump.
  • The flywheel is a lightened item, while the chassis has been powder coated and the fully adjustable suspension has been polybushed.
  • Stopping power comes from HiSpec Motorsport callipers and vented disc brakes with Greenstuff pads front and rear.
  • Exterior features include an LED light upgrade at both the front and rear, a set of 15-inch Team Dynamics wheels, an alloy fuel cap, chrome mirror caps and a full all-weather pack, including doors, a roof, a glass screen, windscreen washers and wipers, and a tonneau cover.
  • The cabin is equipped with high-back Tiger Racing seats, an electronic speedometer, a three-spoke height adjustable Mountney steering wheel, and an alloy gear knob and handbrake.
  • Its original Tiger Racing build book is included, along with a complete record of maintenance invoices from new.

  • There is no known bodywork damage.
  • Its yellow and black finish is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition, and does not appear to have any significant marks.
  • Its black leather upholstery is in similarly good shape, with just a few light marks on the centre console.
  • The vendor notes that the front wheel tracking needs attention, and that the push start button is not connected.

This Tiger Avon is a superb British kit car, built by a professional engineer, before being sent to Tiger Racing for its final tweaks. Driven sparingly since its registration in April 2021, it would now make a great addition to a collection of kit cars, or an entertaining track day toy for its next owner. It is also eligible to be run in many racing series, such as the 750 Sport Special Championship and Classic Sports Car Club Magnificent 7 Series, among others.
