2020 MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS GP3 - DELIVERY MILEAGE

This 2020 Mini John Cooper Works GP is a delivery-mileage example of the fastest road-going Mini model yet, and is effectively brand-new, having been first registered in July 2020. Under the bonnet is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, which produces 306bhp and 332lb-ft of torque. The front wheels are driven via an eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, allowing the GP to make the sprint from 0-62 in just 5.2 seconds and go on to a top speed of 164mph.

As with all GPs, it has been finished in Racing Grey metallic paint with a contrasting Melting Silver roof and door mirror caps, and has been specified with the optional GP Touring pack for greater interior comfort and functionality.

One of just 575 examples reserved for UK buyers and number 1,104 of 3,000 that will be built, this limited-run performance Mini was first registered on 10 July 2020, and is offered for sale by the trade, presented in new and unused condition.

First unveiled as a concept car in 2017 before being refined into the production version for November 2019, the JCW GP is the exhilarating, ultimate performance version of the third generation modern Mini. It builds upon the John Cooper Works model’s already impressive performance, with the inclusion of thicker anti-roll bars, a lower ride height and a wider track.

Of course, as the fastest production Mini ever built it also has a number of engine enhancements, including a new twin-scroll turbocharger, reinforced crankshaft and lighter pistons, as well as bespoke intake and exhaust systems. The result is a uniquely riotous driving experience.

The bodywork – complete with its dramatic recycled composite wheel arch extensions, deeper front bumper and massive rear wing – is in pristine condition, as is the Racing Grey and Melting Silver paintwork, which is unmarked and as-new. The car rides on unique forged four-spoke alloy wheels, which present without a single blemish, and are shod with high-performance Hankook Ventus S1 Evo Z tyres.

In the cabin, the heavily bolstered black Dinamica suede and leather Recaro seats take centre stage, with contrasting light grey accents and red stitching along their bolsters. In keeping with the car’s performance focus, the rear seats have been removed, and a red strut brace has been installed in their place.

GP-exclusive hexagonal patterned inlays feature on the 12 o’clock steering wheel marker and the shift paddles, while there is red stitching around the leather rim and on the automatic gear selector gaiter, and further red accents for the seat belts and floor mat emblems. Adding an extra bespoke touch, the passenger side of the dashboard is fitted with a 3D-printed fascia, identifying this as car number 1,104. The interior is of course showroom-fresh throughout, without a single mark or hint of wear.

This example has been specified with the optional GP Touring pack, which adds automatic air conditioning, heated seats, rear parking sensors and a DAB digital radio tuner. This also includes the Navigation Plus Pack, MINI Connected Services including online search and weather information, and Apple CarPlay preparation.

As the car was registered new in July 2020, its first MOT test isn’t due until 9 July 2023, and it still carries its manufacturer warranty. It will be accompanied by all of its original supplied books, sales literature, tools and accessories.
