2020 MCLAREN 600LT SPIDER - VAT Q

This McLaren 600LT Spider is an open-top track-focused supercar, which also makes for a sublime pared-back road car. It is powered by a race-derived 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing 592bhp, coupled to the ‘SSG’ seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The odometer shows just 2,695 miles from new.

First registered on 20 March 2020, this was a pre-registered car that therefore shows one previous keeper on the log book, and it is now offered by the trade. It left the factory finished in the special paint colour of McLaren Orange, paired with a Dark Palladium roof. The wheels are 10-spoke ultra-lightweight alloys finished in gloss black, which are accented by orange callipers over the ceramic brake discs. It is also fitted with the vehicle lift adjustable suspension system for added convenience.

Having been on the road for just six months, the bodywork and paint is unsurprisingly in superb order throughout, with no panel damage, dents or scuffs. The McLaren Orange is a wonderfully vibrant hue, and is a perfect partner for the sculpted styling elements that are picked out in matt and gloss black. There is a small chip on the windscreen outside of the driver’s main sightlines, but the glass and body trims have no other damage. Its 10-spoke alloys have one small kerb mark to the offside rear wheel, but are otherwise in great shape.

Turning to the interior, the cabin is trimmed in ‘By McLaren’ Designer Alcantara, complemented by MSO Defined McLaren Orange seat belts and orange stitching throughout. The seats, dashboard and door trims are all reported to be in excellent ‘as-new’ condition. Carbon-fibre is present on the steering wheel spokes and gear shift paddles, the centre console panel, around the switches for the door latches and electric windows, and for the touch-screen surround.

Factory-fitted equipment includes an electrically adjustable steering column, the cabin stowage option, and the Security Pack. The Bowers and Wilkins 12-speaker audio system is also installed, along with front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera. A McLaren-branded floor mat set is also present.

The car has not yet had its first annual service, which will fall due in March 2021. The car is also covered by the original McLaren warranty until March 2023. Its Pirelli P Zero tyres are the original items, and having covered just shy of 2,700 miles, they remain in good condition with ample tread. Accompanying the car is the owner’s handbook, the service record, IRIS user guide, and two keys.

This McLaren 600LT Spider is a stunning driver’s car, as evidenced by the fact that its coupe sibling scooped Evo magazine’s 2018 ‘Car of the Year’ award. While the Spider was also honed for track use, in all likelihood most owners will stick to the public highway, and here the 600LT is still a truly exhilarating machine. Presented in virtually as-new condition throughout, this represents a great opportunity to acquire a sublime supercar, with a substantial saving over its list price.
