2020 FORD MUSTANG BULLITT

This 2020 Ford Mustang Bullitt is a special-edition contemporary muscle car, which features a number of unique cosmetic and performance touches, and is presented in outstanding condition both inside and out. Under the bonnet is the 5.0-litre V8, producing 453bhp and 399lb-ft of torque. This is mated to the engaging six-speed manual transmission with automatic rev-matching, and drives the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. The odometer displays 5,008 miles from new.

Unveiled at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show, the sixth-generation ‘S550’ Bullitt Mustang is the third car in the brand’s history to wear the ‘Bullitt’ badge and was created to mark 50 years since the Steve McQueen-led action thriller first hit cinema screens.

Based on the Mustang GT, the Bullitt edition is powered by the same 5.0-litre V8 engine, which has been upgraded with a new induction system with larger throttle bodies and a remapped ECU. Fitted with the GT’s Performance Package as standard, the Bullitt also benefits from heavy-duty front suspension springs, additional underbody bracing, a thicker anti-roll bar and Brembo brakes.

This original UK-market right-hand drive example was first registered on 27 June 2020 and bought brand new by the seller, who specified it with the optional Magneride adaptive suspension system for improved ride and road manners.

It remains covered by a full factory warranty until June 2023, and AA coverage comes with the car until end of June 2021. Furthermore, the highly appropriate registration ‘MU20 TNG’ is included in the sale.

The car’s bodywork is in wonderful condition, and is free of any accident damage, dents or other marks. The signature Bullitt Dark Highland Green metallic paintwork also presents extremely well, having been protected with a ceramic coating upon the car’s delivery to the seller.

To increase the emphasis on the body’s striking lines, and to set it apart from the ‘standard’ Mustang GT, the Bullitt edition features minimal badging, and the usually ubiquitous pony on the grille has been omitted for a more streamlined look. Indeed, the only identifiers which remain on the car are the unique ‘Bullitt’ badge on its tale and the wheels’ Mustang centre caps.

The car rides on the original set of black ‘Torque Thrust’ 19-inch alloy wheels, which hark back to the five-spoke items featured on the iconic 1968 car featured in the film, and are in great shape all round.

In the cabin, a pair of supportive Recaro seats with black leather upholstery and green stitching takes centre stage, while the two rear seats are also clad in black leather. All four are in excellent order, with few if any signs of use.

As with its exterior, this Bullitt Mustang features a number of unique interior touches, including the standard-fit white ‘cue ball’ gear knob as seen at Steve McQueen’s right hand in the film. A Bullitt plaque on the passenger-side of the dashboard and the badge at the centre of the heated multi-function steering wheel leave little doubt as to which special-edition Mustang you’re sitting in, and unique sill plates add an extra, finishing touch.

Overall, the car’s interior is in excellent condition, and is well-appointed from the factory, with standard equipment including a heated steering wheel, climate control and Ford’s Sync3 infotainment system with satellite navigation, DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a premium Bang & Olufsen 1000W audio system.

The car also features integration with the Ford Pass mobile app, which allows it to be locked and unlocked remotely from your phone, which can also be used to check the fuel level, tyre pressures and engine oil level, as well as monitoring the vehicle via its integrated GPS tracker. The seller states that there are no faults with any of the interior buttons, switches or electrical items, and that there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Given its recent build-date, this Mustang is in fine mechanical health, and has not yet required its 1-year service. Furthermore, its factory warranty is also still in place until June 2023, giving the next owner even more peace of mind.

This striking American performance car has been fitted with an H-pipe exhaust by UK Mustang specialist GT101 to provide it with a true muscle-car exhaust note; however, the seller is also including the factory-fitted muffler, which can be refitted should the next owner wish to do so.

As it was first registered in June 2020, this Mustang has not yet required its first MOT test, which is due in June 2023. The wheels are still fitted with their original factory-fitted Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres, which are in great shape and have plenty of remaining tread, having covered just over 5,000 miles.
