It is equipped with the 1.6-litre Ford Sigma engine producing 135bhp, coupled with a five-speed manual transmission. Thanks to a kerb weight of just 540kg, the 270S can spring from 0-60mph in 5.0-seconds. Having covered only 350 miles, the bodywork of this Caterham presents in superb condition and has never sustained any damage. The panels appear free of cracks or dents, while the Firecracker Yellow paintwork remains rich and deep, and it was specified with the painted ‘7’ branding on the nose grille. The headlight lenses and windscreen are as-new, and the optional Black Pack body trims and side-mounted exhaust appear scuff-free. The car rides on a set of 15-inch six-spoke Orcus alloy wheels, which are immaculate on all four corners.

In the cabin, the S specification means the seats are padded for comfort and trimmed with black leather, which appears pristine. Its wider SV chassis and lowered floors also means there is more room for larger drivers, or those with bigger feet. The dashboard is the optional carbon-fibre item from the R Pack, and is free of any scratches, while the switches and instrument dials are all in as-new condition. The Momo three-spoke steering wheel and ‘S’ branded gear knob are immaculate. All of the electrics work perfectly, and there are no warning lights on the dashboard. It is a genuinely pristine and as-new example.

The car received its standard pre-delivery inspection service at 50 miles at Caterham’s HQ, and the first annual service will not be due until November 2021. It will not need an annual MOT test until 2023. The wheels come wrapped with Avon ZZ5 Tyres in 195/50/R15, which present in excellent condition all round, having just a few hundred miles of use.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s manual, service book, a handover letter from Caterham and two keys. A tonneau cover is also included.
