2020 BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT V8 CONVERTIBLE

This Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible is a luxurious open-top grand tourer with remarkable outright performance, which is presented in as-new condition having little more than running-in mileage. Under the bonnet is a 542bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, driving all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows just 1,464 miles.

Specified from the factory in Onyx black, this car also has the Mulliner Driving Specification and Blackline Specification, including 22-inch black painted alloy wheels, black exterior trim finishers, and a special finish for the fuel filler cap, and a metal oil cap. Inside, they add diamond quilting on the seats, ‘diamond in diamond’ embroidery on the door card and rear quarter panel inserts, sports pedals, and Bentley emblems in contrast stitching. First registered in September 2020, there is one previous keeper on the V5C, and it has been in the owner’s possession since 2 October that year.

As you would expect given the low mileage and young age, the exterior of this Bentley GT V8 Convertible is in as-new condition, with a glossy finish to the deep Onyx black paintwork. In Blackline Specification, all of the exterior trims have a dark appearance, including the grille, headlight and tail light bezels, and the quad exhaust tailpipes. The black soft top hood is also in great shape, with no wear or damage. Its 22-inch wheels are in pristine order, with no kerbing scuffs or other marks.

Inside, this GT V8 has the Colour Split E option, with Linen primary hide and Beluga secondary hide. With the Mulliner Specification, it features diamond-quilted patterns over the top backrest sections, as well as in the door card centre sections. The front seat comfort specification includes neck warmers, power adjustable headrests, adjustable base cushions and side bolsters, heating and ventilation, and massage functions. They also feature contrasting piping and contrast embroidered Bentley emblems.

It features a grey roof headlining, while the veneers are sophisticated Piano Black with the optional chrome pinstripe detailing. Ahead of the driver is a heated duo-tone three-spoke steering wheel, while the car also has the sports pedals as part of the Mulliner package, and the Diamond Knurling Specification. The car also features the desirable three-sided Rotating Display, which can show either a solid veneer panel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, or three classic analogue gauges showing outside air temperature, a chronograph and a compass.

Other factory-fitted equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, and front and rear cameras. This Bentley was also ordered with the Touring Specification, incorporating a head-up display, night vision, Bentley Safeguard Plus, adaptive cruise control, and Lane Assist.

Mechanically, the car remains in superb order, and of course will not be due its first annual service until September 2021. All four tyres are the original Pirelli P Zero items, which have almost their full tread depth remaining given the very low mileage.

This Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible is a striking example of a critically acclaimed high-performance grand tourer. Boasting arguably even greater agility than its W12 sister car, and finished in a particularly demure ‘triple black’ specification, this is a wonderfully luxurious and exceptionally well-appointed cruiser, which would make a fine addition to any collection.
