2019 NISSAN GT-R 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

This Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary is a sensational Japanese supercar, finished in a special commemorative livery to mark 50 years of the GT-R nameplate. It is powered by a hand-built 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6, producing 572hp and 633Nm of torque, coupled to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows just 11,150 km (6,928 miles), and of course it retains the balance of the original Nissan warranty.

Part of the 2020 model-year updates for the GT-R, the 50th Anniversary edition therefore incorporates upgraded turbochargers and an improved gear shift response, along with revised Bilstein DampTronic suspension settings to improve both stability and ride, as well as new wheels and styling updates. At the rear, there is a titanium exhaust back box with burnished blue finisher tips, which enhance the aural character of the V6.

The most obvious enhancement for this particular GT-R is the striking Bayside Blue paint, carried over from the legendary R34 GT-R. The condition of the bodywork and paint finish is described as excellent, with no repairs, and with the vendor reporting only very minor scuffs on the underside of the front bumper lip. It has the special 50th Anniversary livery stripe running from the bonnet/hood through to the boot/trunk lid, as well as the graphic and badging on the rear. It rides on lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels, featuring blue accents on the recessed pairs of spokes, which are all pristine.

Inside, there is a unique Twilight Grey colour scheme, with two-tone leather upholstery on the seats, dashboard, centre console and door trims, and with the same grey leather around the steering wheel and gear shifter. There is also Alcantara trim for the sun visors and headliner, with the latter having a bespoke diamond-stitched pattern in light grey thread. The 50th Anniversary motifs appear on the kick plates, rev counter, and centre console alongside the handbrake. Factory-fitted equipment includes an 8.0-inch touch-screen with satellite navigation and 3D mapping, Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, keyless entry and start, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and an 11-speaker Bose sound system. Everything works as it should, and there are no warning lights on the dashboard display. The vendor reports that it still looks - and smells - like a new car.

Its first service was carried out in January 2020 at the Nissan High Performance Centre in Chatswood, New South Wales. The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres are still in excellent condition, with plenty of tread remaining. Accompanying the vehicle are all of the original handbooks and user guides, as well as the tool kit, and two keys.

This Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary is a giant-killing supercar, presented in a superb commemorative specification that makes it stand out from standard examples. It remains in great shape throughout, evidently enjoyed but not abused, and is ready for many more thrilling miles in the hands of its next owner. The car is understood to be one of only eight examples of the 50th Anniversary model to be imported to Australia, so would make a rare addition to any garage or supercar collection.
