2019 ASTON MARTIN RAPIDE AMR

This Aston Martin Rapide AMR is a strikingly specified example of the marque’s exceptionally rare swansong for its four-door supercar and – notwithstanding the forthcoming Valkyrie – the very last naturally aspirated V12 model to roll off the Aston Martin production line. Under the bonnet is the 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 from the Vantage GT12, producing 595bhp, driving the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The odometer shows 5,450 miles from new.

Initially registered on 11 January 2019, this Rapide AMR is understood to be one of only 188 built, and one of only 47 to remain in the UK. It is well-known on the Aston Martin scene, having featured in the official Rapide display at the autumn Aston Martin Owners’ Club concours in 2019, as well as the ‘First and Last of VH chassis’ feature in the Spring edition of Vantage magazine. Prior to taking delivery, the first owner received personal correspondence from former Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer, and the original document will be included in the sale. The second owner acquired the car in late 2020.

This 210mph executive express benefits from numerous desirable options, including the Bang & Olufsen audio system, the exterior carbon-fibre package, machined carbon wing badges, matt black diamond-turned alloys, and the Silhouette paint pack with a Q special colour scheme.

This eye-catching Rapide is recorded as one of only eight UK cars finished in Scintilla Silver, and only a few of those are believed to have the optional China Grey stripe. With a deep and even shine throughout, the paintwork is essentially as-new throughout, with the only blemish of note being an almost imperceptible stone chip on the left front wing.

Its road presence is enhanced by the optional Exterior Carbon Pack, with the front bumper moulding and splitter, rear diffuser, sill splitters, wing mirror caps, vent strakes and boot lid spoiler all free of any imperfections or scratches in the lacquer. There are also carbon-fibre tail light inserts, and machined carbon badges, complemented by the dark anodised brake callipers and matt black wheels. The latter are in pristine order thanks to refurbishment carried out in July 2020.

Inside, the Rapide’s cabin offers four sculpted bucket seats to the occupants. These are in excellent order with no damage to the black leather and Alcantara upholstery. A leather-trimmed steering wheel in the One-77 design was specified, while practicality is boosted with the optional folding rear seat backs. There are no faults with any of the electrics or switchgear, and no warning lights on the dashboard.

This Rapide was given its first annual service in January 2020 at 2,805 miles. During this visit, the armrests on the carbon-fibre centre console were re-secured with new clips after the previous items worked loose. There were no other issues identified.

This example is offered for sale with its tailored AMR car cover, as well as the balance of the manufacturer’s warranty remaining. The appropriate ‘AMR’ number plate seen in the photographs will also be included in the sale.

As the Rapide is not yet three years old, its first MOT test is not due until 10 January 2022. The wheels are shod in matching Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, which are all in good condition with ample tread remaining.
