2018 MCLAREN SENNA

This 2018 McLaren Senna is presented in outstanding condition, boasting an arresting factory specification, and low mileage from new. Under the engine cover is the 789bhp twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, which drives the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. This, combined with a dry weight of only 1,198kg, allows this Senna to rocket from 0-62mph in just 2.8 seconds, and from 0-186mph in a mere 18.5 seconds – and it can carry on to a top speed of 211mph. The odometer displays just 2,628 miles.

In total, only 500 McLaren Sennas were built, with this example being number 161, as shown by its chassis number and the engraved plaque in its cabin. This car is believed to be the only Senna in Europe which is finished in the vibrant hue of MSO Defined Paris Blue, which is accented by extensive carbon-fibre, while the upper and lower door sections feature Gorilla Glass panels. It rides on ultra-lightweight nine-spoke alloy wheels, which are finished in Dark Stealth grey and house a set of matching Paris Blue brake callipers.

First registered in December 2018, the car is now offered for sale by its first and only owner, who specified the car with the personal assistance of their friend, McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt, alongside Director of Design Robert Melville and Colour & Materials Designer Jo Lewis. During their ownership, the car has been enjoyed as intended, and while it has never seen the race track, it has appeared at a number of events, including the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the 2020 Prescott Hill Climb, where it holds the unofficial record for a McLaren Senna.

As you might expect, thanks to its low mileage and careful ownership, the car’s dramatic bodywork and Paris Blue paintwork remain in as-new condition, which has been aided by the application of paint protection film (PPF) around its entire body, including the rear diffuser. This Senna also features subdued Brushed Galvanic Grey metal finishes, and a raft of carbon-fibre components. All of the body trims are pristine, as are the Dark Stealth wheels.

Moving inside, the cabin’s cutting-edge design and carefully selected materials complement the exterior particularly well, and all of its components are in great shape. The regular-size carbon-fibre racing seats’ pads are clad in Carbon Black Alcantara, which is highlighted by Paris Blue perforations and Midnight Blue accent stitching. Both of the seats are fitted with standard black three-point belts, as well as a removable six-point harness in Paris Blue.

Ahead, the carbon-fibre accented steering wheel is also trimmed in Carbon Black Alcantara with an eye-catching Paris Blue 12 o’clock marker, while the sill panels are covered in grey carpeting with Alcantara panels. In line with McLaren’s aim of keeping the Senna as light as possible, its interior design makes extensive use of carbon-fibre, which is offset by a pair of body-coloured hydraulic door struts.

Factory-fitted equipment includes air-conditioning, a premium Bowers & Wilkins seven-speaker sound system, the McLaren Track Telemetry pack, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera. All of the car’s buttons, switches and electrical items work perfectly, and there are no warning lights on its dashboard.

Backed by a full main dealer service history from new, the car’s most recent routine maintenance was a major service, which was carried out at 2,600 miles by McLaren Ascot. Prior to this, it received its 12-month service and has been returned to the dealership for any manufacturer recalls, ensuring that its software is fully up-to-date. While the Senna’s standard exhaust note is already suitably impressive, this example’s thunderous soundtrack has been enhanced by the addition of a Novitech exhaust bypass valve, which was fitted by McLaren.

Given its age, this sensational supercar has not yet required its first MOT test, which is due on 29 November 2021. Its Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres are just over two years old, having been fitted from new.

The car will be accompanied by all of its original handbooks and documentation of its service history. The seller is also including a spare pair of Paris Blue end plates for the rear wing, in addition to the Senna ‘S’-branded items which are currently fitted.
