2018 MCLAREN SENNA - 902 MILES

This McLaren Senna is a sensational track-focused road car, which boasts a handsome factory specification, and little more than running-in mileage on the odometer. It is powered by a mighty twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, producing up to 789bhp and 590lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows just 902 miles.

With a reported dry weight of only 1,198kg, the Senna has a remarkable power-to-weight ratio, which in turn enables a claimed 0-62mph time of 2.8 seconds, and top speed of 211mph.

Of the 500 cars built by McLaren, this is car number 202 - as denoted by the graphics on the rear wing caps, and embroidered in the seat headrests. It left the factory finished in the menacing hue of MSO Defined Abyss Black, accented by Azura Blue for the front aero blades. The lower body features lashings of carbon-fibre, while the upper and lower door sections feature Gorilla Glass.

Its ultra-lightweight alloy wheels have an MSO Bespoke gold finish, and are complemented by blue callipers, and blue centre-lock nuts. There are also blue ‘S’ monogram accents on the rear wing end panels. First registered on 30 November 2018, it has just one private owner from new. Today, its bodywork and paint present in exceptional as-new condition, thanks to the sparing use and meticulous storage in a heated garage. The vendor also notes that it was given a full paint protection film (PPF) application around the entire body. All of the carbon-fibre trim is in great shape, as are the gold wheels, which are free of any kerbing marks or other damage.

Inside, the cabin complements the exterior superbly, with the Touring-size carbon-fibre bucket seats trimmed in Carbon Black Alcantara with MSO Bespoke blue contrast stitching. There are minimal signs of use commensurate with the very low mileage, and the seats have both standard three-point belts in black, as well as full six-point harnesses in blue.

Ahead of the driver is a carbon-fibre steering wheel trimmed in Carbon Black Alcantara, while the sill panels are also finished in MSO Defined carbon-fibre. There is a raft of other carbon-fibre components and trim throughout the interior, and the hydraulic door struts are also finished in contrasting blue. Factory-fitted equipment includes air-conditioning, the Bowers & Wilkins 7-speaker audio system, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera. There are no electrical faults, and no warning lights on the dashboard.

Benefiting from a full main dealer history to date, its last scheduled maintenance was in November 2020 at 889 miles, when McLaren Ascot carried out a second-year service. The engine oil and filter were renewed, and Trofeo R tyres were also fitted. During this visit, technicians also rectified a loose riv-nut on the nearside inner arch panel, fitted two new securing bolts on the exhaust finisher, and completed the rear toe link recall campaign work.

Prior to this, its first annual service was also carried out by McLaren Ascot, in November 2019 at 470 miles, with an initial oil and filter change. The vendor states that all necessary recall campaigns have also been carried out on the car. Its third-year service is due in November 2021.

Accompanying the car is the original new vehicle invoice from 2018, plus invoices for both annual services at McLaren Ascot. All of the original literature supplied by the dealer also comes with the car, as well as two keys. The car remains covered by the balance of its 3-year factory warranty until November 2021.

This McLaren Senna is a rare and critically acclaimed track-focused supercar, which has astonishing outright pace, cornering capability, and stopping power. It is a car that deserves to be fully exploited on a circuit, but will no doubt also prove to be a collectible contemporary performance car for many years to come.
