2018 MASERATI GRANCABRIO MC CENTENNIAL EDITION

This 2018 Maserati GranCabrio MC Centennial Edition is a stunning limited-edition convertible GT, which is presented in superb condition throughout. Under the bonnet is the 460bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine, which drives the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The odometer shows 9,842 miles, and it remains under extended warranty cover until November 2021.

First offered for sale in 2014 to celebrate 100 years of the Maserati marque, the Centennial Editions of both the GranTurismo and GranCabrio MC Stradale took the already popular models and added a host of unique cosmetic touches.

These included three exclusive triple-coat paint finishes, colour-coded upholstery in soft Poltrona Frau leather, and with carbon-fibre used for the rear spoiler, front seat inlays, door handles and door mirrors. The cars also featured unique centre caps on their 20-inch Trofeo Design wheels with ‘100’ logos, which also appear on the carbon-fibre sill covers.

This original UK-market GranCabrio was specified in the exclusive hue of Rosso Magma, with an optional visible carbon-fibre bonnet and a black leather interior with red accents and white stitching. The car has three previous keepers on the V5C, though the fourth keeper was the son of the third, registered to his business after his father passed away last year. It is now offered for sale by the trade. The vendor has an email from Maserati on file stating that the total new price for the car was £132,659.

Thanks to a pampered life, the car’s curvaceous bodywork remains in excellent condition, with even factory shut lines and no signs of any damage. The exclusive triple-coat Rosso Magma paintwork also presents extremely well, and has an exceptionally deep and rich appearance across the entire car. The only noticeable defect is some slight scraping to the bottom edge of the front bumper – which is only visible when kneeling down and looking underneath the car.

This particular GranCabrio MC’s sporty looks have also been further enhanced by its optional carbon-fibre bonnet, which adds a touch of motorsport-inspired design, while also matching the Centennial Edition’s other carbon features. In addition, the black convertible hood is in superb order, and fits well over its frame with no rips, tears or fading of the fabric. The car rides on its original 20-inch Trofeo Design wheels, which are immaculate, with no chips, blemishes or marks on their ‘Matt Smoke’ faces.

In the cabin, luxurious black Poltona Frau leather covers most of the interior surfaces, highlighted by red accents and white stitching. Overall, the interior is in excellent condition, owing to the car’s low mileage, and while there is some very minor creasing to the driver’s seat’s bolsters, this in no way detracts from the nearly-new appearance of the cabin.

The dashboard is also adorned with carbon-fibre trim, which remains glossy and free of any scratches or damage; and factory-fitted equipment includes a Bose sound system, electrically adjustable front seats, climate control and rear parking sensors. The vendor reports that there are no known faults with any of the interior buttons, switches or electrical items, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

The car’s first service was carried out in November 2020 at 9,804 miles, when Maranello Maserati Egham performed a major service and replaced both rear shock absorbers under warranty. The first MOT test fell due on 9 January 2021, though this will be carried out during the auction, with the result posted in due course.

The wheels are fitted with a set of Pirelli P Zero tyres, which the seller states are brand new, and measure 245/35 ZR20 at the front and 285/35 ZR20 at the rear. This modern performance convertible will be accompanied by all of its original owner’s manuals and documents, as well as its Maserati-branded battery charger and wind deflector.

This Maserati GranCabrio MC Centennial Edition is a sensational example of a limited-edition open-top grand tourer, which can comfortably transport four in style, while accompanied by intoxicating exhaust note which the brand’s cars are now famous for. It also comes with a transferable Maserati extended warranty, valid until 30 November 2021.

Finished in the Centennial Edition-exclusive hue of Rosso Magma and presented in exceptional condition, this rare Maserati will make an excellent addition to any collection of modern Italian machinery, and would be the ideal companion for summer trips across the continent.
