To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Ferrari commissioned a remarkable series of limited-edition models, using its ‘Tailor Made’ programme to craft specifications that would faithfully recreate 70 different liveries from its incredible motorsport and road car history. This is livery number 64 of 70, 'The Celebration Ferrari', inspired by the 430 Scuderia Spider 16M. Its 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine produces 661bhp and sends it to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch semi-automatic transmission. The odometer currently indicates just 2,471 miles from new.
First registered on 29 March 2018, this 70th Anniversary 488 GTB has two keepers registered in the logbook, and the vehicle has been in the current owner’s collection since 5 October 2018, during which time it has been fastidiously maintained by H.R. Owen Ferrari.
The 488 GTB’s bodywork presents superbly, having benefited from very limited use and a full paint protection film application. The vehicle boasts beautiful Grigio Silverstone paintwork, complete with a 1/1 tricolour livery in Verde Bandiera Ral, Bianco Avus and Rosso Bandiera Ral, with the edge in Bianco. The list of 70th Anniversary special equipment also includes the Ferrari shield airbrushed on the wings, external 70th Anniversary logo, matte black external grills and 20-inch Matte Grigio Silverstone wheels, which present as new. Other factory options include the carbon fibre exterior and racing packages, a sports exhaust and aluminium brake calipers.
Inside, the 70th Anniversary 488 GTB features black alcantara interior panels, including the side trims on the centre console, mats and cup holders. The seats are also made from black alcantara, with the smooth panelling in 3D Sail Aunde Nero fabric. The windscreen frame, sun visors and side roof beams are in Ulez black leather, while the central part of the roof trim panel is in 3D Sail Aunde Nero fabric. Other interior features include an adaptive headlight system, Ferrari telemetry and suspension lifter.
The last service was undertaken on 21 July 2020 by H.R. Owen Ferrari in London at 2,413 miles, where the technicians changed the vehicle's engine oil and filters, as well as the brake system oil. The vendor notes the prior service was also undertaken by H.R. Owen at 1,600 miles on 29 March 2019, where the engine oil, filters and anti-pollen cartridges were replaced.
This vehicle has not yet undergone its first MOT test, which is due by 28 March 2021. The Bridgestone Potenza tyres appear near new all round, with plenty of miles left in them.
The vehicle comes with the original Ferrari handbook and service book, as well as a full set of matching specification 70th Anniversary luggage, two sets of keys/tracker fobs, a replica specification model 488 GTB 70th Anniversary and the original Ferrari car cover and charger.
This Ferrari 488 GTB 70th Anniversary is a truly bespoke 'Tailor Made' model, featuring a recreation livery inspired by the 430 Scuderia Spider 16M, and marking design number 64 of 70 in the limited-edition series. Its 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and seven-speed dual clutch semi-automatic gearbox are just the tip of the iceberg, as the vehicle also features stunning bespoke interior trim and a range of lightweight carbon fibre exterior panels. With just two keepers on the logbook and an exceptionally low mileage, this opportunity to own a unique piece of Ferrari history should not be missed.
