2018 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA QUADRIFOGLIO

This Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is a well-specified, single-owner example of the marque’s thrilling high-performance saloon. Under the bonnet is a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 producing 503bhp and 443lb-ft of torque, coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows just 6,251 miles from new.

The Quadrifoglio’s engine was designed and developed by Ferrari, and is related to the latter’s twin-turbocharged F154 V8 engine. Its pace, dynamics, and outright theatre were lauded by the press at launch, with Evo magazine calling it a “masterpiece”. Perhaps that should have been no surprise, given that its lead chassis engineer was Philippe Krief, who was also the chassis engineer for the Ferrari 458 Speciale.

It is unique in its class as having an active front-splitter, and has a carbon-fibre roof, prop shaft and bonnet. First registered in late 2018, this is a 2019 model-year car, which therefore benefits from Apple CarPlay as well as split-folding rear seats.

Finished in triple-coat Rosso Competizione, the Alfa Romeo exhibits a lustrous finish throughout. There is a minor scratch apparent on the front left wing mirror, while the front carbon-fibre splitter exhibits minor scratching under the right-hand side. The Giulia has some superb styling details around the body, and this car was also specified with the aluminium fuel filler cap. The original 19-inch teledial-style alloy wheels are present, and have been refurbished on the left-hand side of the car due to kerbing marks.

The vendor notes that the car had its front bumper and offside front side panels replaced due to damage caused by a third party in a car park. These were replaced with original panels and professionally resprayed. The carbon-fibre side skirts and rear spoiler are in excellent condition with no lacquer damage. The car had a Nanolex ceramic paint protection coating applied on 5 December 2018, and the seller is having the same coating applied to the new panels, which will be done before collection by the new owner.

Finished in black leather with Alcantara centre panels, this Quadrifoglio has been specified with the Sparco carbon-fibre shell sport seats with green and white stitching, as well as a flat-bottomed leather and Alcantara steering wheel with carbon-fibre inlay. The material presents well, with no rips or damage on the seats, and the carbon trims are also in very good order.

The vendor notes that there are some minor scuffs on both the driver and passenger door cards from entering and exiting the car. Everything is in working order, with no electrical faults noted.

The car's first service was a running-in oil and filter change at 1,342 miles and the most recent service was carried out at 4,616 miles, both by Alfa Romeo Hassocks. This car was also the subject of an optional service campaign to revert the ride height to original factory specifications, as a batch of cars between June 2017 and November 2018 had been manufactured with a higher ride height – in response to criticisms of the car being too low for some speed bumps – before Alfa reverted to the original setup.

The front brake pads were replaced in August 2020, as well as the front left tyre and alloy wheel due to pothole damage in April 2020, as well as the right rear right tyre on account of a puncture in July 2019. The vendor notes that the matching Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres on the rear left and front right will likely need to be replaced within the next 1,000-2,000 miles.

As the car is less than three years old, its first MOT is not due until 15 November 2021. It is also still covered by the three-year manufacturer warranty, a three-year service plan and three-year breakdown recovery.

This Alfa will be supplied with its original handbooks, brochures, factory-supplied tools, and all service and repair invoices. The car was supplied with an Alfa Romeo indoor car cover, which is included in the sale, as well as a genuine Alfa Romeo boot floor liner mat.

Combining handsome styling with a barnstorming engine and a good deal of practicality, this Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is a superb high-performance saloon presented in excellent order throughout. A compelling alternative to more familiar offerings from Germany or the UK, this Italian thoroughbred would make an exciting daily driver or a great companion for road trips that venture farther afield.

All cars and motorbikes on Collecting Cars are run through an online HPI check. This vehicle shows no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and has no finance owing.
