2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF (MK7) GTI CLUBSPORT S

This Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S is a well-maintained and very rare hot hatch, presented with a superb Deep Pearl Black colour scheme and in excellent condition throughout. Under the bonnet sits the 306bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 36,998 miles from new.

The Clubsport S was introduced as a limited-edition model, designed with faster track times in mind. It features an uprated version of the 2.0-litre engine, along with new front suspension and subframe components, upgraded brakes and removal of the rear seats and some of the car’s sound deadening material. First registered in January 2017, this example has been with its current keeper for five months, and is believed to be vehicle number 155 of just 400 built.

The bodywork is all in good shape, and the condition of its Deep Pearl Black paintwork has been described as excellent. The vendor has indicated that a few stone chips can be seen on the bonnet, while a slight scratch is visible on the tailgate, though the rear spoiler, twin-exhausts and GTI badging all present very well, and the vendor reports the finish has benefited from a ceramic coating. The car rides on a set of refurbished 19-inch alloy wheels, which are in excellent condition on all four corners.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed with black leather, cloth and Alcantara, all of which presents very well. The seats are accented with red and white pinstripes, also featuring red stitching and the GTI logo embossed into the centre panels. The Alcantara steering wheel, ‘golf ball’ style gear knob and glossy black dashboard trim all present as they should, and no electrical faults have been detected.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in October 2020 at 36,698 miles, where technicians at Awesome GTI in Manchester carried out a full service, and replaced the brake fluid, discs, pads and hoses. An uprated coil pack was also fitted, before the front differential was serviced and a new gasket set was installed. Prior to this, routine maintenance was undertaken in January 2018 at 15,000 miles, and in 2017 at 6,000 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 19 January 2021 at 36,792 miles, which resulted in a pass with one advisory to monitor a worn offside front tyre. The Michelin tyres are reported to be in good condition, with between 5-6mm of tread remaining. A new set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres is also included in the sale. Accompanying the vehicle are the original handbooks and service book.
