2017 MERCEDES-AMG GT C ROADSTER

This Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster is a thrilling, high-performance sports car, presented in outstanding condition both inside and out. Under the elongated bonnet is the potent 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, which produces 549bhp and 502lb-ft of torque. This is mated to a seven-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission, and drives the rear wheels via an electronically controlled limited-slip differential for a 0-62mph time of just 3.7 seconds and a searing 196mph top speed. The odometer displays just 11,750 miles from new.

Sitting above the entry-level AMG GT and GT S models, the GT C is second only to the track-focused GT R in terms of its performance, and features a wider track and flared rear wheel arches, housing 20-inch wheels and the same rear-wheel steering system as the AMG GT R.

Built in Mercedes-Benz’s Sindelfingen factory, this right-hand drive UK market GT C Roadster was first registered on 28 April 2017, and was acquired by the seller in June 2020.

Today, the car’s curvaceous aluminium bodywork is in excellent condition, and its Magnetite Black metallic finish presents equally well, with the front end and other high-impact areas having been covered in paint protection film. Equipped with the AMG Silver Chrome Exterior Package, this GT C features a number of high-gloss trim items, which appear on the front splitter, rear diffuser and the front wings’ air outlet fins.

All of the car’s exterior trim is in great shape, and the black fabric hood – which is capable of retracting in just 11 seconds at speeds of up to 30mph – is also free of any marks and damage, and fits snugly over its frame. This powerful open-top sports car rides on a staggered set of AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels, which are finished in Titanium Grey with diamond-cut faces. All four present well, however the seller notes that two of the wheels are marked by minor chips.

Upholstered in AMG Exclusive Macchiato Beige and Black Nappa leather, this Mercedes-AMG’s cabin is as luxurious as those seen in any of the marque’s other premium vehicles, and is in fantastic condition throughout. Both of the supportive AMG Performance seats are clad in Macchiato Beige leather with perforated and diamond-stitched centres and show little evidence of wear, and the two-tone door cards are also in very good order.

Ahead, the steering wheel is covered in black Nappa leather with Dinamica suede inserts on its hand grips, and the convertible hood’s headlining is crafted from the same synthetic suede material. Aluminium and silver carbon fibre-effect trim items add a sporty, high-quality touch to the cabin, and illuminated AMG-branded door sills welcome the driver and passenger whenever they open their doors.

Factory-fitted equipment includes the Parktronic parking assist system, a reversing camera, electrically adjustable seats with memory settings, tyre pressure monitoring system, DAB digital radio, automatic climate control, a premium Burmester surround sound system, heated front seats and keyless-go.

Routinely maintained in line with its service schedule, this GT C Roadster is reported to be in excellent mechanical condition. Most recently, Mercedes-Benz of Gatwick treated it to an ‘A’ service in June 2020 at 6,005 miles, which included replacement of the engine oil and filter, spark plugs and air filter element.

Prior to this, the car was serviced by Mercedes-Benz Chelmsford in May 2019 at 5,000 miles, when the engine oil, oil filter, dust filter, keyless-go key battery and brake fluid were changed, and in April 2018 at 3,305 miles, when the engine oil and filter were replaced.

This roadster’s latest MOT test was conducted on 23 October 2020 at 8,776 miles, resulting in a clean first-time pass. All four alloy wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, which the seller states have around 4mm of usable tread remaining.

Accompanying the car is its Mercedes-Benz document wallet containing all of its original handbooks and service guide. The seller has paid for the car’s next four services in advance, and it is currently covered under an extended Mercedes-Benz warranty, which is transferrable to another private owner should they wish to continue the monthly payments.

This Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster is a compelling contemporary sports car, which offers sensational performance courtesy of its thunderous turbocharged V8, while retaining the levels of comfort and sophistication that the marque is famed for. Presented in superb cosmetic and mechanical condition throughout, this low-mileage two-seater will make a welcome addition to any collection, and is sure to turn heads on every outing.
