2017 MCLAREN 570S SPIDER

This 2017 McLaren 570S Spider is an outstanding example of the marque’s celebrated ‘Sports Series’ convertible, presented in a refined colour scheme and in excellent condition throughout. It is powered by the same 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 found in the 570S coupe, which produces 562bhp and drives the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch paddle shift transmission.

The prodigious power delivery enables the 570S Spider to sprint from 0-62mph in a mere 3.2 seconds, and to go on to 204mph with the electrically-operated roof in place. The odometer currently displays just 5,934 miles from new.

First registered in October 2017, this 570S Spider is particularly well-equipped, fitted with the sports exhaust system, ceramic brakes, and the desirable vehicle lift system, to name just a few items. The interior also features the ‘Luxury Pack’, which consists of eight-way adjustable heated and power-adjustable sports seats, a power-adjustable steering column, a Bowers & Wilkins 12-speaker audio system and soft-close doors. The car has been enjoyed for the seller for the past two years.

Today, the car’s bodywork and shimmering Onyx Black paintwork remain in excellent, undamaged condition, and the finish presents particularly well, having been fully covered with paint protection film by Topaz Detailing in February 2019. The vendor notes that Bell & Colvill have replaced two panels under warranty due to corrosion, the bottom panel of the driver’s door in October 2020, and the passenger-side front wing in April 2021; however, the paint protection film was reapplied afterwards, and the replacement panels are unnoticeable.

Taken from McLaren’s ‘Special’ range of finishes, the Onyx Black paintwork is offset by Dark Palladium accents which appear on its front splitter, side ‘aero blades’, exterior door inserts, side skirts, rear bumper, diffuser and rear spoiler, creating an attractive yet subtle contrast around the car. This 570S Spider rides on its original staggered set of 19-inch and 20-inch lightweight 10-spoke forged alloy wheels, which are in great shape, and house a set of carbon ceramic brake discs and ‘Liquid Metal’ colour callipers.

Moving inside, the car was specified with a ‘By McLaren’ cabin theme, which combines Carbon Black Alcantara, Jet Black Nappa leather and McLaren Orange Nappa leather to great effect. Both of the seats remain in excellent condition, with no evidence of wear to their Alcantara-clad bolsters or leather-wrapped cushioning, and the two-tone Carbon Black Alcantara and McLaren Orange Nappa leather dashboard presents equally well. The carbon-fibre switch panel, steering wheel spokes and door inserts – included as part of the optional carbon-fibre interior upgrade pack – are also unmarked, and the car’s black carpets are protected by a set of McLaren-branded over mats.

Factory-fitted equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, the Security Pack which features a volumetric alarm and a vehicle tracking system, and the vehicle lift system. There are no faults with any of the car’s buttons, switches or electrical items, and there are no warning lights displayed on its dashboard.

This high-performance Spider’s most recent routine maintenance was an oil service, which was carried out in October 2020 at 5,443 miles by approved McLaren aftersales provider Bell & Colvill. Prior to this, the car received its second year service from McLaren dealer Rybrook Bristol in December 2019, while the car’s engine was replaced under warranty on 17 July 2019, again by Rybrook Bristol.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 7 October 2020 at 5,443 miles, resulting in a clean, first-time pass. All four wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, which are in good order, with around 6mm of usable tread remaining at the front and 5mm at the rear.

The car will be accompanied by all of its original handbook and documents from new, as well as documentation of its full service history to date.
