This 2017 Ligier JS P3 represents a great opportunity to acquire a very successful race car direct from the first owner. Powered by the 420bhp 5.0-litre Nissan VK50DE V8 engine, coupled to a six-speed sequential X-Trac gearbox, this Ligier is a fast and agile LMP3 competitor. The chassis has covered some 14000 km from new – with only 4000 km on the rebuilt engine and gearbox – and was the overall winner of the LMP3 Cup Championship in 2018.
The vendor acquired this JS P3 as a new build from the manufacturer. It has proved to be a highly competitive car across Europe and Asia for the Nielsen Racing team, mainly in the hands of Colin Noble, Tony Wells and Alasdair McCaig. This particular Ligier has notched up wins at tracks including Portimao, Spa-Francorchamps, Donington, Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Monza.
Records show 30 race entries for this car across 2017 and 2018, with a 90% finishing ratio. Of those 27 completed races, 19 resulted in a podium finish, including 10 wins and nine second-place finishes. There is no doubt that OR03-75 boasts impressive racing provenance.
As well as the LMP3 Cup won by this very car, the Ligier JS P3 is eligible for numerous other events, including the European and Asian Le Mans Series, the IMSA Prototype Challenge in the US, the V de V Series and the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
Its carbon monocoque body sits on front and rear double wishbone suspension with three-way adjustable dampers. The wheels are 18-inch magnesium rims that house 14-inch Brembo brake discs and six-piston calipers.
With the right team behind it, this JS P3 should continue to be an exciting and competitive racer. It is now offered via auction to a new owner, and will be sold in its bare carbon body state without livery.
