2017 JAGUAR F-TYPE 400 SPORT CONVERTIBLE

Not your average F-Type, this 2017 Jaguar F-Type 400 Sport Convertible is one of approximately 320 made for the UK market, and one of approximately 22 rear-wheel-drive convertibles finished in Santorini Black. Presented in excellent condition, this rare drop-top Jaguar has covered just 21,175 miles from new.

The 400 Sport model was a development of the driver-favourite V6 S model, with power from the 3.0 supercharged V6 boosted to 395bhp and paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Jaguar’s ‘Configurable Driver System’ for electronically variable driver modes. Aside from visual upgrades, such as revised side skirts, front splitter and diffuser, the ‘400 Sport’ badging with subtle yellow and satin grey accents, the 400 Sport also received a unique interior. On launch, CAR Magazine said, “The steering feels great, the interior feels well-made and the jaw-dropping looks alone are enough to make you feel like a celebrity, but it’s the noise that echoes from those chrome-tipped exhausts that will stay with you.”

First registered on 29 March 2017, this 400 Sport has had two previous owners. The vendor has owned the car since November 2018, in which time approximately 3,000 miles have been covered.

The Santorini Black paintwork is a perfect fit for the muscular haunches of the F-Type and is in great condition. The vendor notes there are two minor scratches on the front bonnet, as shown in the photos, but otherwise, the paintwork is unmarked. The original satin grey five-spoke 20-inch wheels are in excellent condition and are shod in Pirelli P-Zero tyres with 7 millimetres front tread and 5 millimetres rear tread recorded at the March 2020 service. The 400 Sport also benefits from Jaguar LED Technology headlights and tinted taillights, which are also in great condition. This car features carbon-fibre wing mirrors and door puddle lights, which present very well.

Moving inside, the black leather interior with yellow accent stitching and ‘400 Sport’ embossed headrests is in excellent condition. This limited-edition model features the optional thicker flat-bottom steering wheel as standard, paired with anodised gearbox paddles and brushed black aluminium centre console. The vendor reports no defects to the interior, with only very minor seat and carpet wear visible, and the car is very well specified, with heated and cooled 14-way adjustable electric seats, a heated steering wheel, upgraded Meridian stereo, ambient lighting and more. The exhaust is also controllable via a centre console button, allowing digression when required.

The car was most recently serviced by Jaguar Southend in March 2020 at 20,559 miles. This scheduled 36-month service also included an engine oil, oil filter and brake fluid change and an adjustment of the driver’s window area to remove a rattle successfully. Prior to this, the car received its 24-month service, plus an oil, filter and pollen filter change, in April 2019 at 18,799 miles. It was MOT tested on 23 March 2020, passing the first time with no advisories or warnings, and also professionally detailed and ceramic coated around this time. This 400 Sport example of the much-adored F-Type not only boasts fine driving characteristics, a high specification, low mileage and full Jaguar service history, but is also a limited-edition example with many upgrades over the standard car.
