2017 CATERHAM SEVEN 360S

This Caterham Seven 360S is a thrilling driver’s car, presented in excellent condition with just one owner from new. Its engine is the 180bhp 2.0-litre Ford Duratec inline-four, which is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 3,000 miles from new.

While records show this car was first registered in June 2017, it is understood that delivery did not take place until October. The owner has kept the car in good order, safely stored and garaged when not in use, under the colour-coded orange car cover.

The one-owner provenance of this Caterham means that the seller can verify that it has never suffered from any accident damage, and the body panels are free of cracks and dents. Its white paintwork is in great shape, with only minor stone chips around the front nose cone and wheel arches that you would expect. Paint protection film has been applied to the nose, bonnet, and front arches, as well as the carbon guards ahead of the rear wheels.

In the cabin, the leather-trimmed and padded seats make this a usable prospect for longer-distance drives - as do the slot-on doors and stud-fastened fabric roof. The carbon dashboard is in superb condition, and all of the buttons and switches present well and work perfectly. The owner has added an organiser pouch that is secured over the transmission tunnel, giving some practical oddment storage for the occupants.

This car was first serviced by Caterham specialist Sevens and Classics in Kent during the summer of 2018, which included a minor service with renewal of the engine oil and filter. Given the low mileage and that the car has more recently been kept off the road, it has not had a service since then, but remains in fine running order.

The first MOT test has now taken place, with a clean pass recorded on 11 August 2020 at 3,156 miles. The seller notes that the Avon tyres are in excellent condition with plenty of tread.

Accompanying this Seven is all of the original literature, including the welcome presentation pack and owner’s handbook. The original puncture repair canister is present, as well as the orange and white car covers - the inverse of the bodywork - plus the full weather cover and ‘two thirds’ cover that leaves the rear end open over the boot.

The team at Autocar magazine summed up this version of the Seven by saying, “If you want a road Caterham with a touch more long-distance comfort, but still with the ability to stay with a 911, the Seven 360 is an excellent place to start.”

This Caterham Seven 360S is a superb example of a classic design, which boasts one of the most involving chassis and powertrain combinations available. With a power-to-weight ratio of more than 300bhp per tonne, it offers all the pace and excitement you would hope for, and this particular car is presented in great condition by its first and only owner.

All cars and motorbikes on Collecting Cars are run through an online HPI check. This vehicle shows no insurance database markers for damage or theft. It is currently covered by a finance agreement, but the remaining balance will be cleared before ownership is transferred to the buyer.

Please note: the cherished plate shown on the car is not included in the sale. It will be switched back to an age-related registration plate in the event of a successful auction.
