2017 AUDI R8 V10 SPYDER

This 2017 Audi R8 V10 Spyder is among the most sophisticated and capable of supercars, and boasts a high specification and full history. Powered by a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 with 533bhp, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, this superb example has covered 19,653 miles from new.

Finished in Daytona Grey with a two-tone Express Red and Black full leather interior and black hood, this R8 benefits from a number of desirable options, which are detailed in full at the bottom of the listing. The car was specified with the Sports Plus Pack, featuring a sports exhaust system, Audi Magnetic Ride and Dynamic steering. Furthermore, the car features stylish carbon-fibre accents, with gloss-finish sideblades and carbon inlays in the cabin.

This R8 V10 Spyder was first registered on 15 February 2017 and has only one previous owner. Currently in the custodianship of a collector and motorsport fan, the R8 was chosen as an ideal vehicle for European travel to historic races over the summer. However, with this year’s calendar now largely postponed, it is being offered to another enthusiast to enjoy.

The Daytona Grey paintwork is described by the seller as being in excellent condition, and is an ideal colour to complement the angular haunches of the bodywork. The finish remains smooth and glossy all around the car, and the carbon-fibre sideblades are in superb order. It rides on a set of Titanium finish 20-inch forged alloys with a 10-spoke Y-arm design. There is some kerbing to the nearside front wheel, clearly shown in the photo gallery, but otherwise they are pristine.

Audi’s contemporary cabins are lauded for their elegant design and robust build quality. This R8 Spyder is upholstered in an appealing combination of vibrant Express Red and Black leather, with the aforementioned carbon-fibre accents. The interior trim is all in excellent condition, with no damage or untoward wear, in line with the car’s low mileage. As a later model of the first-cycle ‘Type 4S’ R8, this car benefits from the widescreen driver display, as well as Apple CarPlay connectivity.

The electrically adjustable hard-backed sport seats feature lumbar adjustment and three-stage heating. Other factory-fitted equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and the Bang and Olufsen sound system. The rear window can also be lowered to allow the enthralling exhaust note to reverberate around the cabin without lowering the soft top roof.

Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition with a full service history. When purchased by the current owner in January this year, a thorough pre-delivery inspection and annual service was carried out by Reading Audi at 18,885 miles. At this point, the manufacturer warranty was also extended by a further two years until December 2021.

Prior to this, the car received a multi-point check and MOT at Reading Audi in November 2019 at 18,841 miles, with no alerts or concerns, and only the tester noting the presence of factory-fitted undertrays. The car also received an oil change service in January 2019 at 12,924 miles and in April 2018 at 8,471 miles.

The alloy wheels are shod in a set of Pirelli P Zero tyres, in size 245/30 ZR20 at the front and 305/30 ZR20 at the rear, all of which have around 4.5mm of tread remaining.

The car is accompanied by the owner’s manual, two keys, and a print-out of the digital service history record. For the peace of mind of the next private owner, it is covered by a full Audi warranty, including breakdown assistance, until 31 December 2021.

This Audi R8 V10 Spyder is a fantastic example of a supremely competent and reliable supercar. It boasts ballistic performance – 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 197mph – but also daily-driver usability. This highly specified V10 supercar is a thrill to relish on sunny weekends, but an equally impressive companion for longer road trips. It is an opportunity not to be missed if you are looking for a stylish all-rounder with terrific performance.
