2016 ZENOS E10 R

KEY FACTS

  • A thrilling low-volume British sports car, which brings together modern lightweight construction methods with an analogue driving experience, offered by its first and only owner.
  • It is powered by a 2.3-litre turbocharged Ford EcoBoost engine, now producing 352bhp and 381lb-ft of torque, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission.
  • Weighing in at around 830kg, the E10 R boasts a remarkable performance, making it an intoxicating road car as well as a deeply impressive track machine.
  • This particular car is one of two ‘fully upgraded’ examples of the E10 R, with more than £11,000 worth of extras to enhance the performance and reliability.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • The Zenos’ construction comprises a hybrid carbon composite cockpit over an aluminium ‘spine’, as well as a steel roll-over and side-impact protection system, and removable front and rear wing panels.
  • This particular E10 R has received a raft of upgrades from Colin Wakelin, who is well known in the Zenos community for having developed tried-and-tested modifications. Wakelin has also maintained this car from new.
  • The enhancements include new Reyland brakes front and rear with new ducting, a turbocharger upgrade and engine remap, charge cooling system with dashboard information display, an uprated oil cooler and radiator cooling ducting.
  • It rides on Nitron NTR shock absorbers instead of the standard Bilstein dampers, and is equipped with upgraded springs, plus a Quaife limited-slip differential.
  • The Nitron suspension setup was specifically designed for the Zenos in consultation with Matthew Bentley Racing, while the Reyland Brakes were developed with Colin Wakelin.
  • In the cabin, there are carbon-fibre bucket seats, a quick-release Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel, plumbed-in fire extinguisher system, battery cut-off switch, and it has both four-point safety harnesses and standard inertia-reel belts. The car is also equipped with a heated windscreen.
  • Accompanying the car is a ‘get you home’ temporary hood, storm cover, two keys, and the original Zenos E10 R sales literature and invoice.

CONDITION

  • There is no previous bodywork damage.
  • Its silver and black paintwork is in generally excellent condition, and is guarded by paint protection film to areas of the front, sides and rear.
  • The spartan interior is also in great shape, with no damage to the carbon-fibre seats, and minimal wear on the seat padding. There is very slight piling to the Alcantara on the steering wheel rim, and some small scuffs around the driver’s footwell as you would expect.
  • No electrical faults have been detected.
  • The most recent MOT test was on 19 August 2021 at 6,571 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • The car has been regularly serviced from new, looked after by Zenos specialist Colin Wakelin.
  • There is a vibrant Facebook Zenos owners forum, and specialists can supply spare mechanical and body parts. The engine and gearbox are Ford manufactured.
