2016 MERCEDES-BENZ (R231) SL 400 AMG LINE

This 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL 400 AMG Line is a stylish and well-maintained open-top cruiser, presented in excellent condition throughout and with very low mileage. Under the bonnet sits the 362bhp twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, coupled with the nine-speed 9G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission with paddle shift.

First registered in June 2016, this SL 400 has been in the hands of its first and only keeper from new. The odometer currently indicates just 5,900 miles.

The car’s elegant bodywork is all in good shape, and it has been finished with a Satin Grey wrap on top of its original Polar White paintwork. The finish is described as being in generally excellent condition, with minimal wear even to high risk areas like the front bumper, wheel arches and wings. There is a small flaw in the wrap visible in the join between the bonnet and offside A-pillar, and the top of the boot has a smattering of small weather marks. Both are shown in the gallery.

The car is ready to be enjoyed as-is in the current Satin Grey finish, and of course there is always the option for the next owner to remove the wrap in the future and revert to the pristine original Polar White paint finish. The folding metal roof is in good working order, and the car rides on a set of 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, which are in excellent condition.

Inside, the Bengal Red Nappa leather is all in great shape, and the seats present slight signs of use by no wear or discolouration to note. The leather-clad door cards are in superb condition, along with the black leather dashboard top and brushed metal trim. The car is equipped with heated seats, air-conditioning, Mercedes’ ‘Air Scarf’ neck warmers, satellite navigation and parking sensors; and all of the electrics are functioning as they should.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken in December 2019 at 5,285 miles, where technicians at Mercedes-Benz main dealer Sinclair Garages in Newport carried out the marque’s Service A, changing the engine oil and filter. Prior to this, in September 2018, technicians performed a Service B, also changing the brake fluid. In July 2017, technicians at Sinclair Garages in Swansea performed another Service A.

The most recent MOT test was on 23 March 2021 at 5,877 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The Pirelli P Zero tyres have plenty of tread, though the vendor has reported some cracking to the sidewall of the offside rear item.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s manuals and other books, along with a print-out of the digital service history showing the maintenance to date.
