2016 MERCEDES-AMG C63 S COUPE

This 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 S is a fine example of the contemporary high-performance coupe, which has been lightly customised for an even more menacing appearance and boasts a full main dealer service history from new. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, producing 503bhp and 516lb-ft of torque, which is coupled to a seven-speed ‘Speedshift MCT’ automatic transmission with paddle shift. The odometer displays 23,700 miles from new.

First registered in October 2016, this C63 S has been with its current keeper for the past two years, during which time it has been stored in a garage day and night when not in use, and has covered just 4,000 miles per year. There is only one previous keeper on the V5C.

The car’s muscular bodywork is in superb order, with flush, even shut lines and no dents or other damage. Believed to be entirely original, the Obsidian Black paintwork is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition, and while a few minor stone chips are visible on the front end in line with the car’s use, it is otherwise unmarked, having been treated to a five-year ceramic coating in June 2019 and fully detailed in February 2021. All of the body trims, including the carbon-fibre accents on the bumpers and side skirts are in great shape, and the seller has also fitted a blacked-out grille from the post-facelift 2019 C63 S for a more aggressive look – though the original grille and badge will be supplied with the car.

The car rides on a set of staggered black 19-inch and 20-inch forged alloys, with some minor kerb scratches to the offside rear outer wheel lip, but no other damage. The owner is also included a set of H&R ‘Federnsatz’ Mercedes-AMG C63 S 20mm lowering springs, which are brand new but not fitted. All windows have been given a dark black tint to further add to the car’s aggressive aesthetic.

In the cabin, the AMG sport seats and door cards are clad in Premium black leather with light grey accents, which is in fantastic overall condition. Both of the front seats show some minor signs of age-related creasing, and the vendor notes that there is a slight scratch on the passenger seat. Ahead of the driver, the steering wheel’s synthetic suede hand grips have worn slightly from use, but the rest of the interior – including the racy carbon-fibre centre console – presents superbly. The owner has also applied additional carbon features throughout the interior – including the engine start button, ashtray trim, and black race paddle shifters. Factory-fitted features include a panoramic sliding/tilt sunroof, climate control, heated front seats, 360-degree parking sensors/cameras, sat-nav, Distronic lane/distance assist, a head-up windscreen display, Bluetooth audio, and Mercedes Me. All of the car’s controls and electrical items work without fault.

This C63’s last routine maintenance was a ‘B’ service, which was carried out in February 2021 at 23,300 miles by Mercedes Aberdeen. While the car’s engine and suspension are unmodified, it has been fitted with a straight-pipe Dutch exhaust system to unleash the full fury of its thunderous exhaust note. While this means there is currently no lambda sensor fitted, leading to an emission prompt warning, the original sensors and exhaust system will also be supplied with the car.

The most recent MOT test was conducted on 10 October 2020 at 22,122 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with advisories for wear to the edges of all four tyres. However, all four tyres have been replaced in December 2020, so they are now in excellent condition and have ample usable tread remaining.

Accompanying this C63 are all of its original handbooks and its latest MOT test certificate. The vendor is also supplying the car’s original exhaust system, and a set of lowering springs, which the next owner can fit should they wish.

This Mercedes-AMG C63 S is a sensational German ‘super coupe’, which is in fantastic condition and with a comprehensive main dealer service history. Providing addictive performance and impressive levels of comfort and refinement, this is also arguably the last of the true raw V8 AMG models. It could make the ideal daily driver, or it could be reserved for weekend use, when its rumbling super-loud exhaust and entertaining dynamics can be fully enjoyed.
