2016 MCLAREN 675LT SPIDER - 23 MILES

This McLaren 675LT Spider is a stunning example of the sensational, track-focused but road-legal supercar, which remains in as-new condition, having covered just 23 miles since it was first registered in September 2016. It is offered directly from its first and only owner.

Under the engine cover is a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8, which produces 666bhp (or 675PS) and 516ft-lb of torque. This drives the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters, allowing the 675LT Spider to rocket from a standstill to 62mph in just 2.9 seconds. Perhaps even more impressive is the car’s 0-124mph time of 8.1 seconds and its top speed of 203mph.

When it was first revealed in late 2015, the McLaren 675LT Spider was the marque’s fastest ever convertible, thanks to the impressive drivetrain which it shares with the coupe model, and its carbon-fibre tub, which helps to reduce weight while maximising rigidity. Like the fixed-head 675LT, only 500 examples of the Spider were produced.

Ordered from McLaren Birmingham and first registered in September 2016, this example was specified with bright Silica White paintwork from McLaren’s ‘Special’ range of finishes, and features the optional Carbon Fibre Exterior Upgrade Pack, soft close doors, ultra lightweight alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera, among other options.

As is to be expected of a delivery-mileage car, the carbon-fibre bodywork is in as-new condition, with straight, even panel gaps and a smooth and glossy finish to its Silica White paintwork. This brilliant factory hue is offset by the exposed satin carbon-fibre side skirts and front splitter, while the optional Carbon Fibre Exterior Upgrade Pack sees the front spoiler end plates, lower side intakes and the central and upper sections of the rear bumper also being made from the lightweight composite.

The ‘Stealth’ carbon-fibre badging completes the monochromatic colour scheme and the car’s twin titanium exhaust tips provide a purposeful accent at the rear. This 675LT Spider rides on a set of ultra-lightweight ten-spoke forged alloy wheels finished in ‘Stealth’ matt grey, with McLaren Orange brake callipers providing a sharp contrast against the carbon-ceramic brake discs.

In the cabin, Carbon Black Alcantara covers most of the interior surfaces, including the steering wheel rim, door cards, centre console and dashboard, which also feature McLaren Orange stitching. Specified in ‘Touring’ size, which provides additional width and padding, the racing bucket seats are clad in black Alcantara and feature embossed leather on their upper sections and the inner faces of the side bolsters.

As with the exterior, satin carbon-fibre accents are found throughout the cabin, gracing the steering wheel spokes, shift paddles and the IRIS infotainment system’s touchscreen surround. Very much intended as a stripped-back, purposeful machine, the 675LT’s floors feature exposed carbon-fibre, though this is protected by an optional set of branded floor mats. The interior is, of course, in superb unmarked condition throughout, without no wear or damage.

As well as the Spider’s electrically operated convertible hardtop – which can be retracted in just 16 seconds while travelling at speeds of up to 25mph – this example also features the near-essential vehicle lift system, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors with a rear-view camera, the volumetric alarm upgrade, and a vehicle tracking system.

Having been placed in storage almost immediately after delivery, this 675LT Spider is in factory-fresh mechanical condition. McLaren Birmingham performed its first service on 12 December 2017 at 22 miles. The car’s first MOT test is now overdue, but given its as-new condition, it would surely pass with flying colours if the next owner wishes to use this on the road.

The wheels are still shod in their original Pirelli P Zero Trofeo tyres, which show no signs of wear and date to August 2016, measuring 235/35ZR19 at the front and 305/30ZR20 to the rear.

Accompanying this breath-taking open-topped supercar are all of its original documents, two keys and a 675LT-branded indoor cover, as well as the optional warning triangle, first aid kit and fire extinguisher. The appropriate registration ‘MC66 REN’ is also included in the sale.

Offering truly staggering performance, the McLaren 675LT Spider is an exemplar of the marque’s ability to craft engaging and blisteringly fast supercars, which remain eminently usable. Its sale represents an excellent opportunity to acquire an as-new example of one of the most thrilling vehicles in McLaren’s Super Series, and it will make a welcome addition to any collection of exotic modern machinery.
