2016 MCLAREN 540C

This McLaren 540C is an exotic carbon-fibre chassis British supercar with thrilling performance, presented in superb condition throughout. It is powered by a 533bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The odometer shows 10,369 miles from new.

At launch, the 540C received rave reviews, with Evo magazine stating it was “alive with detail and feedback”, and “more than worthy of its supercar status”.

First registered in October 2016, this car was initially the seller’s company car, and he has always been the only driver. In April 2019, he acquired the car from the business and became its second registered keeper. While not strictly a one owner car, it is most certainly a ‘one driver’ car, and has never been used on track. Finished in Ice Silver over grey Alcantara with red leather accents, it is understood to have had £15,200 worth of options from the factory, including the security pack with lifting mechanism and paint protection.

Today, the exterior still presents in excellent condition, with impressive shut lines and with no damage or dents to any of the panels. The Ice Silver paint finish is smooth and even all around the car, and it is equipped with front and rear parking sensors and camera. The only blemish noted by the seller is a small graze on the offside front alloy wheel.

Inside, the grey Alcantara upholstery is in very good order, with no damage and very little wear to speak of. The red leather provides a dash of colour, and again is in great shape with no scuffs or marks. The carpets, headlining, dashboard and door card trims all present well, and there are no known faults with any of the switchgear or electrics. Factory-fitted equipment includes a large central touch-screen that controls the air-conditioning, satellite navigation, DAB digital radio, media player and Bluetooth connectivity.

Serviced every year without fail, exclusively at McLaren Ascot, this 540C remains in outstanding mechanical condition throughout. Its last scheduled maintenance was in September 2019 at 8,822 miles, which consisted of a routine annual service, plus warranty work that included new tyre pressure sensors. A new lithium-ion battery was fitted in March 2020 at a cost of £1,800.

Prior to this, the car was also serviced in August 2018 at 7,456 miles, and in September 2017 at 4,448 miles. New rear tyres were fitted in 2018, and the car has also received a replacement windscreen.

Its first MOT test was carried out on 5 September 2019 at 8,839 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. The tyres are in good condition, with the rear tyres in particular having plenty of tread, covering only 3,000 miles since being replaced. Accompanying the car is the original McLaren book pack, a print-out of the service history, and all maintenance invoices.

This McLaren 540C is a superb example of the breed, boasting only one driver from new, and fastidious maintenance history. It offers a wonderfully engaging driving experience, along with typically well-judged McLaren ride quality, and is certain to delight its next owner.
