This 2016 Jaguar F-Type Project 7 is a stunning example of the thrilling limited-run roadster, presented in impeccable condition throughout and with little more than running-in mileage. Under the bonnet resides the supercharged 5.0-litre V8, which produces 567bhp and 516lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels via an eight-speed semi-automatic Quickshift transmission and an electronic differential. The can propel the car from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds, and on to a top speed of 186mph. The odometer displays a mere 467 miles from new.
Named for Jaguar’s seven Le Mans victories, the Project 7 was initially unveiled as a single-seater concept car at Goodwood in 2014. It was then developed into a slightly more conventional two-seater sports car, which was designed by Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division as a modern-day interpretation of the iconic D-Type – focusing on both outright performance and driver engagement.
In total, only 250 examples were built, with 80 right-hand drive cars for the UK market. Based on the V8-powered F-Type and featuring a tuned engine, re-valved adaptive dampers and bespoke rear bodywork, it was the most powerful Jaguar ever built at launch, and features a number of unique design elements – most notably the D-type inspired fairing behind the driver’s seat. First registered on 3 March 2016, this thrilling limited-run sports car was acquired by its current owner three years ago.
Constructed from a lightweight blend of aluminium and composite materials, the bodywork is in excellent condition, with no evidence of any accident damage and with flush, even shut lines. As is to be expected given the car’s low mileage and its keepers’ careful ownership, the attractive British Racing Green metallic paintwork is also unmarked, and has a bright and glossy appearance around the entire vehicle.
White roundels and stripe across the nose hint at the Project 7’s classic motorsport influences, while carbon-fibre aero components including the front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and wing provide some much-needed downforce while adding to the car’s aggressive appearance. This high-performance modern Jaguar rides on a set of 20-inch alloy wheels, which are finished in gloss black and house a set of carbon ceramic brake discs and bright yellow callipers.
Stepping inside, the cabin is trimmed in black leather, which is accented by white stitching and matching piping and is in great shape. Both of the lightweight carbon-fibre Sabelt sport seats present handsomely, and are free of any creasing or wear, in line with the car’s extremely low mileage. Ahead, the steering wheel rim is wrapped in black Alcantara, while the centre console is hewn from satin carbon-fibre, and is pristine. Factory-fitted equipment includes a premium Meridian surround-sound system, a rear-view camera, cruise control, and dual-zone climate control. All of the switchgear works without fault, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.
This Project 7’s first and most recent routine maintenance was carried out in March 2019 at 238 miles, when the engine oil and oil filter, brake fluid and battery were replaced, while a visual health check was also performed.
The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 9 March 2020 at 444 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass without any warnings or advisories. All four wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres, which the seller states are in as-new condition.
Accompanying this electrifying sports car are its purchase invoice, original handbook, documentation of its service history and its latest MOT test certificate.
Featuring a unique motorsport-inspired design, superb performance and a sensational soundtrack courtesy of its snarling V8, this Jaguar F-Type Project 7 is a spellbinding limited edition. Presented in outstanding condition throughout and with fewer than 500 miles on its odometer, this is a particularly appealing example of the already collectible roadster, which will make a fine addition to any marque enthusiast’s garage.
