NO RESERVE: 2016 FORD MUSTANG GT - MOUNTUNE SUPERCHARGED 780BHP

This Ford Mustang GT is a bespoke example of the Blue Oval’s modern muscle car, boasting an extensive powertrain upgrade and a custom appearance. Its engine is the 5.0-litre ‘Coyote’ V8, which has been enhanced with a Roush Stage 3 supercharger to ramp power up to 783bhp, driven through a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 12,816 miles from new.

First registered in May 2016 and ordered with the Custom Pack, there are four previous registered keepers on the log book. It is now offered for sale to another enthusiast who is tempted by the proposition of an immensely powerful rear-wheel-drive coupe with a manual gearbox. In total, around £40,000 has been spent on cosmetic and mechanical upgrades.

The seller reports that the bodywork and paint is in pristine condition. The vibrant Deep Impact Blue finish is accented by the GT350R twin black racing stripes with thin red edges. Its Anderson Composites carbon-fibre ‘Supersnake’ bonnet features a wide, shallow air scoop with two additional vents at the rear, while there are also AeroCatch quick-release fasteners.

It is also equipped with a GT350R carbon-fibre rear wing, front splitter, and front grille with custom badge. The tail lights have been converted to the Ford GT style. It rides on 20-inch Velgen VMB7 alloy wheels, which are in pristine condition, and the brake calipers have been painted red.

Inside, the black leather upholstery remains in superb order, with no damage or visible wear. The front seats are heated and cooled, and feature full electric adjustment. All of the other interior trim also presents well, and all of the switchgear and electrics work perfectly. Factory-fitted equipment includes dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and the Shaker audio system. It has also been enhanced with a Barton short shifter, a Steeda cue ball gear knob, and a Lund dashboard gauge in place of the central air vent.

Its last scheduled maintenance was in August 2019 at Mustang Custom Services in Leyland, consisting of a basic service and engine oil change. Prior to this, it received the full Roush stage 3 supercharger conversion at Mountune, with a Lund Racing stage 2 custom engine map. This engine work also included fitment of an additional oil cooler and a remote oil filter to improve cooling capacity and reliability. Oil breather catch cans were also fitted, along with a high-flow fuel pump and new injectors, and an uprated wiring harness. Upgraded long tube headers were installed, as well as high-flow catalytic converters and a full three-inch stainless steel exhaust system.

The suspension was also completely revised at this time to ensure that the chassis could manage the substantial power increase properly, including a full set of KW version 3 shock absorbers and springs, which are fully adjustable for height, bump and rebound. Steeda performance roll bars were also installed, as well as Steeda ‘Stop the Hop’ rear end kit with additional lower arms and braces. It was fitted with a Steeda strut tower brace and G-Trac cross-member at the front. Further engine and chassis enhancements were also added beyond this to produce a bespoke Mustang that drives superbly.

Its last MOT was on 14 May 2020 at 11,772 miles, when it passed with no advisories. The wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, in size 265/35 ZR20 at the front and 305/30 ZR20 at the rear, which have plenty of tread remaining.

This Ford Mustang GT is a stunning contemporary muscle car, upgraded to an eye-opening power output, but with the accompanying improvements to its cooling system, ride and handling to ensure it offers genuinely longevity as well – and all finished to a very high standard. It boasts staggering outright pace, with plenty of driver involvement in marshalling some 783bhp through a manual gearbox. With smart bespoke touches all around the car, it is a well-presented performance car that is sure to thrill and amuse its next owner in equal measure.
