2016 ABARTH 695 BIPOSTO RECORD

This Abarth 695 Biposto Record is an exceptionally rare special edition, with thrilling performance and the perfect dimensions to double up as a fun city car. Under the bonnet is a 187bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged inline-four, vocalised by a character Akrapovic exhaust system, and coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 8,556 miles from new.

With a claimed kerb weight of just 997kg, the 695 Biposto Record is a genuinely quick car, capable of accelerating from zero to 62mph in 5.9 seconds, and on to a top speed of 143mph. It rides on remote-reservoir Extreme Shox shock absorbers, lightweight OZ alloy wheels, and is stopped by high-performance Brembo brakes.

One of only 133 built in total, and one of only 39 planned deliveries to the UK market, this Abarth was first registered on 30 December 2016. There are two previous keepers on the V5C, and it was acquired by the most recent private owner in December 2019.

Today, its bodywork and paint are reported to be in virtually as-new condition, and it certainly presents superbly in the gallery below. The carbon-fibre front spoiler, side skirts, and rear diffuser are also in great shape, with no cracks or chips in the lacquer. All of the body trims are present and correct, and the car’s lightweight OZ alloys have just one small stone chip on a rear wheel, but are otherwise pristine.

Inside, this Abarth looks every inch the miniature racing car, with lightweight door cards and red fabric pull straps, as well as carbon-shelled Sabelt bucket seats. The seats are upholstered in a combination of leather, textured fabric, and synthetic suede, and they remain in excellent order, commensurate with the low mileage. There are no faults with any of the switchgear, and no warning lights on the instrument display.

The last routine service was in December 2019 at 3,648 miles, with Neil Murray Motors carrying out a three-year service with renewed oil and filters. Prior to this, it also had an oil service in November 2018 at 2,095 miles, and its first service in December 2017 at 296 miles.

The vendor will be putting the car through an MOT so that it is sold with a fresh 12-month certificate for the next owner. Its first MOT test was carried out on 16 December 2019 at 3,691 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. All of the tyres are reported to have 4-5mm of tread remaining.

Accompanying the car is the original book pack, including the owner’s manual and the stamped service record.
