2015 PORSCHE (981) CAYMAN S

This Porsche 981 Cayman S is a fantastic example of the model, with low mileage and a handsome factory specification. Powered by a 3.4-litre flat-six engine, this S variant produces 321bhp, and can sprint from zero to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds thanks to the superb PDK dual-clutch transmission as specified in this example. Finished in Agate Grey with a black leather interior, this car has covered just 34,775 miles from new.

A noted improvement from the earlier iterations, at launch the car received numerous full five-star reviews, including from Evo magazine which stated that the Cayman had “come of age”, calling the 981 S “a car with an intoxicating blend of silken powertrain, feelsome steering, breathtaking poise and keen pricing”.

First registered in March 2015, this Cayman S has just two previous registered keepers on the log book. It was acquired by the current owner just over one year ago, who has enjoyed some 3,000 miles behind the wheel. An extended Porsche warranty is still in place until November 2021.

The Agate Grey paintwork presents in excellent condition, with the seller reporting no dents or scratches to the paintwork, and only the odd small chip from use. A small chip is also present in the windscreen, though it is well out of the driver’s vision line. The original 20-inch Turbo-style alloy wheels are in great condition, with only one minor scuff as shown in the photographs. The tyres are Pirelli P Zero items all round, which were fitted in 2019 and have covered around 3,000 miles.

Moving inside, the black leather interior is in good order, with only signs of wear commensurate with the mileage. It also has a dash of colour in the form of Guards Red seat belts. The rest of the interior trim presents well, with some scuffs and scratches on the plastic door sill trims from entry and exit. It is equipped with the supportive and manually adjustable Sport Seat Plus with power-adjustable backrest, as well as the SportDesign steering wheel with PDK gear shift paddles.

The car is very well specified with many comfort and convenience features, including Porsche Communication Management with satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, three-stage heated seats and the Bose sound system. The car also features Launch Control, the desirable Sport Chrono package, the PDLS system, Power Steering Plus, and PASM adjustable dampers.

The only change from the factory specification is the fitment of a genuine Porsche Sports Exhaust system, which improves gas flow and enhances the aural character under revs. It was installed by Porsche South London in 2019, and includes the switchable mode button on the centre console. The most recent MOT test was on 23 May 2019 at 30,415 miles, which was a clean pass with no advisories. Given the six-month extension due to Covid-19, it is not due for another MOT test until 22 November 2020.

The car was most recently serviced in March 2019 by Porsche East London at 29,812 miles, and prior to this was serviced by the same main dealer at 15,102 miles in March 2017. It is in excellent mechanical condition throughout, and also benefits from nearly 18 months of extended Porsche warranty remaining until November 2021.

Complete with all original literature, full service history, tools and accessories, this Porsche 981 Cayman S a well-specified late production model in superb condition throughout. Equally well suited to being an occasional fun car as it is to being a daily driver, this is an excellent example of the breed.
