This Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S is a refined and well-appointed ‘super sedan’, finished in a stunning factory colour scheme, and is offered by its first and only owner. Under the bonnet is a 577bhp (430kw and 800nm) 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, with rear-wheel drive via the seven-speed AMG SpeedShift MCT semi-automatic gearbox. The owner ordered it from the factory, where it was completed in February 2015 and delivered to Australia in June 2015. He has kept this fast and practical luxury family cruiser well maintained.

This generation is the last rear-wheel drive E-Class AMG model to be built, and the factory loaded the tech on the car to include automated driving assistance and intelligent adaptive lighting. With AMG confirming that they plan all future models to be four-wheel drive, these rear-drive models will likely remain highly collectible in the future. Furthermore, when the latest AMG products make you dip into computer screen menus to change settings, this car has simple buttons to change driving modes easily on the run.

Its bodywork is reported to be in excellent condition today, with impressive shut lines and panel gaps around the car. The vendor reports that it has received some cosmetic refurbishment to the bonnet, plus some repairs to the rear passenger-side door from previous damage. Prior to offering the car for sale, any sections with minor blemishes were resprayed to bring it back to an as-new finish, and the car was fully detailed.

The car comes with two sets of 19-inch wheels and tyres. The silver diamond-cut wheels are fitted with standard Pirelli P Zero tyres, which are in nearly new condition, and there is a spare set of wheels in satin black. Red brake callipers add a dash of vibrant colour to the exterior.

Inside, this Mercedes-Benz benefits from a discerning factory specification. The upholstery is two-tone Platinum White and Black Designo leather, with perforated centre panels, and it is accented by black ash wood inlays. There is also a black micro-fibre suede headlining. All of the leather is said to be in generally excellent condition, with no damage, and only slight discolouration on the base of the driver’s seat.

Factory-fitted equipment includes electrically adjustable ‘dynamic’ front sport seats, with heating, ventilation, massage functions and memory settings; the AMG Performance steering wheel with a combination of Dinamica suede and black leather trim; electric roller blinds in the rear doors; and three-zone climate control. There is also a raft of technology, including the dynamic LED headlight system, Distronic Plus cruise control, Active Park Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Autonomous Brake Intervention, and the Rear-End Collision Warning and Protection System. There are no electrical faults, and no warning lights on the dashboard.

Its last routine maintenance was carried out in July 2020 at 48,060 km by AMG Sydney, which was a scheduled annual service. All other services have been carried out at the same main dealer in Mascot, New South Wales.

The last roadworthiness inspection was during the service in July 2020, and there were no warnings or alerts about the car’s condition. The Pirelli P Zero tyres on the silver wheels are all in excellent condition. Accompanying the car are all of the service invoices from new.

This Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S is a powerful, exciting and sophisticated high-performance sedan, with single ownership from new. While the powertrain sounds more like a muscle car at idle and under revs, this is a spacious and refined family car that is just as well-suited to long-distance road trips as it is to weekend blasts.
