2015 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 HERITAGE

This Land Rover Defender 90 Heritage is a superb example of the marque’s swansong to the iconic 4x4, remaining in outstanding condition with very low mileage. Under the bonnet is the 120bhp 2.2-litre inline-four diesel, with permanent four-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 2,105 miles.

The Heritage specification was designed to reflect the model’s illustrious past, and so all cars were finished in the same classic combination of Grasmere Green metallic paint with an Alaska White contrast roof. A Heritage front grille and headlight surrounds were installed, along with heavy duty steel wheels; and the door and tailgate hinges were finished in Indus Silver, while there was aluminium badging front and rear. Inside, the seats were upholstered with Almond cloth facings, and bright aluminium finishes adorned the air vent bezels and the door handles.

First registered on 17 December 2015, this Defender has just one previous keeper on the V5C. It was acquired by the vendor four years ago.

Its bodywork is described as being in genuinely excellent condition today, with no damage or dents. The Grasmere Green paint is also in great shape, with no stone chips or scuffs. It is understood to have spent most of the last four years in storage, when it was unashamedly treated as a collector’s item, and started regularly to keep the engine lubricated. All of the body trims are in superb order, including all of the hinges and external fixtures.

Inside, the four individual seats present in as-new condition, with black vinyl backings and bright Almond cloth front panels; the latter accented by green embroidered Land Rover logos. There are also ‘HUE’ seat tags, which are unique to the Defender Heritage. Ahead of the driver is a leather-trimmed steering wheel, while the two transmission levers are also capped with leather grips and with Heritage style coloured trims. Factory-fitted equipment includes heated front and rear screens, electric windows, and heated front seats. There are no electrical faults, and the cabin remains in excellent order throughout.

The last routine maintenance was carried out in February 2021, which comprised an oil change service. Prior to this, in May 2017 at 1,195 miles, Westover Land Rover in Dorset carried out an engine oil and filter change, and it had its pre-delivery inspection in December 2015 with just 8 miles on the odometer at Macrae & Dick Land Rover in Inverness.

As the Defender has remained in storage, it missed its first MOT test that was due in December 2018. However, its first MOT test took place on 4 February 2021 at 2,105, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. All of the tyres are the original Goodyear Wrangler items, which remain in superb condition.

This Land Rover Defender 90 Heritage is a British design icon that remains in pristine condition. Having been part of a discerning private collection for the last four years, this charming 4x4 would be the ideal candidate for another marque enthusiast to preserve and use occasionally. Alternatively, it is ready to be pressed into regular service if the buyer so desires, with enough off-road capability and practicality to tackle anything they care to throw at it.
