2015 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 UTILITY

This Land Rover Defender 110 is the classic ‘go anywhere’ vehicle with superb practicality, finished in a smart utility-focused specification. Power is provided by a 2.2-litre inline-four with uprated output to around 186bhp and 365lb-ft of torque, driven through a six-speed manual transmission with permanent four-wheel drive, differential locks and high- and low-range gearing. The odometer indicates 62,195 miles.

This Defender has been modified to deliver better road manners and a substantial boost in power and torque. The engine has been treated to Alive Tuning’s Stage 4 upgrade, with a remap, a Billet hybrid turbocharger, an ‘ultimate’ intercooler, ITG panel air filter, Samco hoses, and a new mass air flow sensor. A stainless steel sports exhaust has also been fitted. The suspension has been upgraded to Alive Tuning’s comfort pack coil springs and Bilstein B6 shock absorber kit.

First registered in on 1 March 2015, it has just one owner from new, who has kept the car well maintained. The car was in standard tune for the first two years, but since early 2017 the owner has thoroughly enjoyed this Defender’s significantly enhanced driving experience following the Alive Tuning upgrade programme.

The Santorini Black paintwork is described by the seller as being in good condition. The paintwork has an even finish to it with the only blemishes of note being blistering paint on the roof above the offside rear door and some light scratches on the nearside rear wheel arch. The seller reports that some minor oxidisation is starting to appear around the windscreen. At the front, the Defender is fitted with the upgraded RDX grilles. The 16-inch wheels appear to be in excellent condition except for the nearside front which has a light kerb mark, and some paint from one spoke has started to flake off.

The interior presents in good condition, with Ebony leather seats and striking Pimento Red inserts that are in good shape, with no damage, and with only some light creasing to both front seats. The plastic cover for the mounting point for both front seats has started to breakaway and crack due to use, as shown in the photo gallery.

In 2018, extra seats were added at the rear to allow the vehicle to carry seven people. These are full original equipment units matching the Ebony and Pimento red colour scheme. The headliner is finished in Alcantara and looks to be in excellent condition with no marks. All the switchgear works as intended and there are no warning lights on the dashboard.

The most recent service was carried out at Hodson Ford in Penkridge on the 7 July 2020 at 62,193 miles. This was an oil and filter change, with a new fuel filter, replacement transmission fluid, and the rear wiper blade was replaced at the same time. While in for this service a health check was carried out, and the video report is available upon request. The service before that was also carried out at Hodson Ford in February 2019 at 52,937 miles for an oil and filter service.

The most recent MOT was carried out on the 11 February 2020 at 59,253 miles, with advisories regarding some corrosion on the brake pipes, and slight play in the steering damper bush. The headlight aim was also adjusted on the same day. The car wears Continental CrossContact tyres on all four corners, which the seller describes as being in very good condition with 9mm of tread remaining all round.

The vehicle comes with a good history, and all of the modifications carried out have been invoiced, coming to just under £5,000. A dynamometer print-out sheet is also included, evidencing the upgrades made. The leather pouch, handbook, quick start guide, warranty book and unused spare key are all present. A Tracker security system is also fitted, which the next owner can choose to subscribe to if they wish.

This Land Rover Defender 110 Utility is an immensely practical vehicle that also benefits from significantly upgraded performance and on-road manners. It is ready to be put into service in whatever manner the next owner requires, whether that be as reliable family transport, a regular utility ‘workhorse’, or for more adventurous off-road duties.
